I love some encore votes, how about you?

I love a Gershwin tune too. Heehee!

I need to beg your indulgence for just a moment before we get to the fun and frivolity. If you scroll down my sidebar you'll see a picture of a young man in a red graduation cap and gown. His name is Matt Caffrey and he now wears the Eagle Globe and Anchor of a United States Marine. He officially graduates boot camp on Oct 19. His mom, my dear friend Dixie, is on her way with her family to Parris Island to see her son for the first time in 13 weeks.

Please take a moment and click over to Dixie's Heart and Soul and read this post. Regardless of your politics, I'm fairly certain that you will be moved by the eloquent and heart felt words of a mother. Leave Dixie a note, if you would. Her boy has become a man and a Marine. And I suspect that Dixie has changed just a bit too. Thanks

Now let's cue that music!

Thanks to Lara, Vinny, TopChamp, and Julie for your encore votes...or implied votes.

Let's lead off with Julie's selection of Mel and Maks.

TopChamp wants to see Jennie and Derek, and so does Vinny.

Lara's vote was for Ms Jane and Tony. Vinny gets a second vote because he and I both appreciate Ms Jane's elegance and grace.

Pam's choice is Helio and Julianne. And a note to any fellas that may be reading...take your Lady out and do this sometime. You won't regret it.

Remember, you can all vote for your favorite performance by leaving me a comment on my review post or sending me an email.

I was reading a little bit of fuss about copyrights and anti-piracy today. Copyright infringement is a serious issue. I'm aware that the clips I'm posting can be considered as pirated from ABC. I'm not trying to make any money off of them. I'm merely posting them here because I enjoy the show, and the dances. And I want to share them with my readers. And just so you know, you can watch repeats of the shows and see the dance clips at the official website for Dancing with the Stars. End of disclaimer.

Here's our leader board after the dances from Monday.

30 = Sabrina
27 = Jennie
27 = Helio
27 = Cameron
26 = Ms Jane
26 = Marie
26 = Mel
23 = Floyd
22 = Mark

You're not going to convince Pam and I that Cameron's Superman Paso was the equal of Jennie's Paso or Helio's Viennese Waltz, nor that it was better than the beautiful dances of Ms Jane, Marie, and Mel. Nope.

Fortunately, viewers usually vote for their favorites and often don't pay attention to the judges. Pam and I don't care about these "lifts" that made Carrie Ann so obnoxious last night. Whether she was technically correct or not, she annoyed us. The way we see it, the "lifts" just weren't lifts. The dancers were in contact with the ballroom floor. To us, it's much more of an offense to break hold in the Tango or add hip hop to a Jive or "lift" a lady up over your head in a move few of these celebrities are ready to execute.

So we now say to Ms Carrie Ann Inaba...nana nana boo boo! We defy you and your "lift" obsession! Pppppppppppfffffffffffftttttttttttttttttt!

We voted for Ms Jane and Marie and Helio because we loved those dances and because the three of them have become our favorites. Pam says that although Cameron is still yummy, she didn't care for his Superman Paso Doble. Sorry Cam...women are fickle.

Yikes...I'm gonna pay for that comment. Since I'm already in trouble for that, I'll also bring your attention to the marvelous dress Sam is wearing tonight, which gloriously emphasizes her lovely attributes.

Hehehe.

The judges have decided they want to see the Superman Paso. Meh. Did you see the lift that did not get marked down from the score? Right there at the beginning. Now that was a real lift with her legs and torso above his shoulders.

Drawing a line now, as Len says, and moving on from this stoopid lift controversy. Len has now admonished the pros not to push the limit of the rule anymore.

Gloria Estefan was supposed to perform tonight, but was unable to appear. The DWTS singers get to step out from behind the band and perform The Rhythm is Gonna Get You. And the pros perform a sizzling Mambo.

Sabrina and Mark move on, as do Cameron and Edyta.

We're very excited because Wade Robson is in the ballroom. I've written about this Emmy Award Winning choreographer in my posts for that other dance show on FOX, So You Think You Can Dance. Pam and I love the cross over between the two shows because it continues to shine the very bright light on dancing. Wade's choreography is often bizarre and difficult to understand, but it is always brilliant and inspired. But we've never actually seen him dance. He hasn't danced on TV in four years.

OH WOW!!!

If you missed the show tonight, go youtube search on Wade Robson. I knew he was an amazing choreographer, but he's a dancer first y'all. The guy is only 25 years old and he makes incredible dances like that!

It's Drew and Cheryl dancing, and Wayne singing now. Mr Las Vegas does what he does best. Drew and Cheryl did a little medley of their dances from their season together on the show. Lots of fun.

Mark and Kym are safe, but Floyd and Karina are in the bottom two. Mark came in dead last with the judges, so some celebrities are gritting their teeth.

Jennie and Derek return next week along with Helio and Julianne.

It's very odd to see that either Ms Jane, Marie, or Mel is going to be in the bottom two. That's just crazy talk! Even though the results are already in and nothing I do can change it, I have to do something for luck. I'm going to run outside, turn around six times, and spit. Be right back.

Marie and Jonathan are safe. Ms Jane and Tony are safe.

Mel and Maks join Floyd and Karina in the bottom two.

Floyd and Karina are out. That's the right decision.

Now that's just silly! Pam and I were both holding our breath! Now all the gals will get the opportunity to see Maks...I mean Mel and Maks...dance a Samba or a Rumba next week. It's a pretty good bet he'll be bare chested too. Did you hear that Kyra, Julie?

Yup. That's right. It's Latin night next Monday. TIVO this one y'all, if you can't watch live.

And remember you can vote for your favorite dance and I'll post your encores with our choices during my results recap.

Please also cruise over and leave Sugarbaby Dixie a comment she can read when she gets home with her United States Marine later this week.

Later babies!

DOH!!! One more thing! Listen to The Mo Show today at 7pm EST. Mo tells skeery stories about ghosts and hauntings, and invites us to call in and share our stories too. I'll be listening with all the lights turned on and my woobie close by.

    Hi
    I stopped by because I loved your comment on Shelby's of your cat peering over your computer so he must want something :) mine just stands right besides me-gives me his irratated look and meows.

    Anyway loved your dancing with the stars recap- I am a Jennie and Jane fan too, and I would also include Marie. (all ladies this time-last couple of seasons always liked the guys)

    I will take the time to visit your friends blog-I think as you no matter what your political affliation- we do need to support our "boys"

    What a wonderful tribute to both Dixiechick and Matt. You are a sweety Travis. Have a great day and I'll see you at The Mo Show. :)

  1. I agree that Floyd and Karina were the right decision...and found Miz Jane's replaying of "the lift" very well articulated.

    heading over to Dixies....

    I enjoy all the dancing so much that it is impossible for me to choose between them. Thankyou for taking the time and trouble to put these posts togather for us.

  1. Julie says:

    Oh my! Bare chested MAKS? I can feel it now! I loved how the emcee goofed around and said, "So when you vote...vote for the one you most want to see naked." and then he said something about tiny squares of fabric covering tiny spaces of skin....or something like that....

    FUN time next Monday! Awwww crap....senion football banquet...argh!!!!! What's a girl to do?

  1. Janna says:

    So, which do you love more: Dancing With The Stars, or CAKE?

  1. TopChamp says:

    Cheers! She was cool. I don't recognise any of the stars except Jane Seymour though. WOW she looks good.

  1. Theresa: Thanks for dropping by! I do the recaps every week. I used to watch Donny & Marie on tv when I was a kid. So I'm definitely rooting for her.

    Matt: You won't even watch for Edyta's legs??? Are you sure you won't reconsider?? Not even for Sam's marvelous tatas??

    Sandee: I'm just so proud of both of them.

    Katherine: I'm glad Ms Jane stood firm.

    Cathy: It is tough to choose favorites, isn't it? And it's only going to get tougher. I really enjoy doing these posts.

    Julie: Do I need to get you a fan my dear? TIVO!!

    Janna: You always ask the tough questions! Can I just have CAKE while I'm Dancing?

    TC: Ms Jane brings a level of sophistication...I actually think she might have succeeded in taking a lot of the cheesiness out of the show.

  1. Linda says:

    I'm glad it wasn't just me that thought Carrie Ann was being a bit over the top with this lift stuff. Enough already - relax!

    Nice to see you in the chat room on The Mo Show tonight. You should've called in with your story!

  1. Hey, Travis. Not sure if I mentioned this before because blogger has been kicking me off when I try to comment lately, but I appreciate the recaps. My TV reception hasn't been good since we moved so it's nice to see the clips. :)

  1. OK...When I sent you the text the other night teasing it was about Jennie..I really liked her this week...something pulled me away so I did not see Ms. Jane until now...A LIFT??? Carrie Ann you are a fool

    Right choice by the fans....

    Next best choice is to muzzle Carrie Ann...

    When you are spinning someone like that, even if a foot comes up it is NOT A LIFT....SHEESH

  1. JAM says:

    Thanks for the tip on Dixie's post. I went and read it and left a comment.

  1. Linda: She was out of control, and very biased in the way she applied her outrage about "lifts".

    Kate: I'll keep posting the clips as long as I can.

    V: Agreed! Of course, one week it's Carrie Ann who is annoying, then it's Bruno, then it's Len.

    JAM: I appreciat that, thanks.
