YAY!

The celebrities and their dance partners have been announced for the new season of Dancing With The Stars. The show returns on March 17 with a two night premier followed by a double elimination during the first results show.

Adam Carolla, radio host, is paired with two time defending champion Julianne Hough.

Christian de la Fuente, actor, is paired with two time champion Cheryl Burke.

I'll pause while Matt regains his composure. Ready Matt?

Shannon Elizabeth, actor, is paired with Derek Hough.

Steve Guttenberg, actor, is paired with Anna Trebunskaya.

Penn Jillette, illusionist and comedian, is paired with Kym Johnson.

Mario, R&B singer, is paired with Karina Smirnoff.

Marlee Matlin, actor, is paired with Fabian Sanchez, 2006 World Mambo Champion and DWTS newcomer.

Priscilla Presley, actor and entrepreneur, is paired with Louis Van Amstel, who returns after some time away.

Monica Seles, tennis champion, pairs with Jonathan Roberts.

Jason Taylor, NFL All Pro, is paired with Edyta Sliwinska.

Marissa Jaret Winokur, broadway actor, is paired with Tony Dovolani.

Kristi Yamaguchi, Olympic champion, is paired with Mark Ballas Jr.

Oh! You can get a ballroom dancing fix tonight at 8pm when America's Ballroom Challenge airs on PBS.

The couple in the clip is the new American Rhythm championship couple, Jose Decamps & Joanna Zacharewicz.

    I don't see any of the big guys lasting very long. The size difference between Adam Carolla and Julieann Hough will make them the awkward couple.
    Look for Monica Seles and Johnathan Roberts to do very well. Figurew skaters have the right background and they will match up is size very well.
    Pricilla Presley...Oh Please, She's older than I am (she's 62)!!! She could easily be the first one out the door.

    travis - why is it that every time I select your link and come to read what you're up to, my cat goes mental??? Yesterday he launched himself onto my knee for some strokes. Today he licked then, after being ignored, BIT my foot. I am not amused. Ok - I'm a little tiny bit amused. But mainly irritated.

    I will look forward to your updates, of course. It must have taken you a while to link the people but I'm glad you did as I've only heard of a couple of these people.

    Don't be suprised if the two figure skaters M"onica Seles and Kristi Yamaguci are in the finals. They have all of the tools and will be the right size for their partners.
    Jason Taylor (Miami Dolphins DE) will be too tall to be a good match for his partner. It just doesn't work when the guys are 6'-4"- 6'6" and their partners are 5'-3" in heels. That will put Penn Jilette and Adam Carolla in the dumpster early on as well. Jason will the the "he's hawt" female vote, while no one will know how the other two are.

    Drilleraa: The bigger guys will have to be much more graceful and work a little harder to make the pairs look smooth. I agree that Monica should be a great partner for Jonathan - he's one of our favorite pros.

    Matt: I meant to post a picture for you, but I forgot. I'm a bad blogging buddy.

    TC: Mental cats eh? Mine went a little off track last night too when I was trying to get my post ready. Bastards!

    Lana: He is quite tall. Hopefully there aren't too many clutzes. Last season was nice that way.

    Drilleraa: I'm looking forward to seeing how well we agree when I start doing my recaps. I really love this show!

    V: I hadn't thought of the disability issue like that. It should be interesting with a hearing impaired person to see how they cope with the rhythms.

    I haven't really watched this show consistently since the first season, and with the addition of Adam Carolla, they're ensuring that I NEVER watch it this year.

    So, I don't know how they know her, but the people I work for at the cafe here in Boston know Karina. He was on the phone with his Mom and he said, "So karina's on dancing with the stars, right? That'll be fun to watch her."
