Herman's Hermits

Herman's Hermits were in the vanguard of the British Invasion in the early 1960's. They had a string of top 10 hits from 1964 through 1967.

I would have done these from audio codes, but it's still not working. And there isn't a grand selection from the group.

  1. I've always liked the Hermits, even though they've taken a bashing from the critics. Later after the group broke up Peter Noone, the drummer and lead singer of the group went on to something of an acting career.

Had all their 45's...my favs were "Listen People" and "Leaning on a Lamp Post". Peter was ok, but I was actually more partial to Keith (major heartthrob for a 10-year-old!!!)

My sister had a huge crush on Peter Noone. (She's 14 years older than me.)

I saw them open for the Monkees back in the '80s. That was a fun show. I actually saw them twice...I think it was them and Gary Puckett the one show and then The Grass Roots replaced Herman's Hermits for the other one. I can't remember exactly, but I remember seeing all of those bands.

  1. I've always liked "I'm Into Something Good". I still have that 45... I wonder if I have anything to play it on??

Beckeye: I went to a festival once and saw Gary Puckett, The Grass Roots, and The Turtles.

  1. Brings back mems, kiddies. Gee, I was there when it was happening. Am I old or what??? I liked the Turtles but the Hermits were a little too sugary for me. Don't know why but I like stuff with super tight harmony or harder rock.
It all has to do with the music, not the attitude - for me.
