Packing Day

Welcome to packing day!

So we've got boxes, tape, markers, music, and beer. That should be all the required supplies.

Yikes! Forgot about ordering the pizza! BRB.

Whew! Can't believe I almost forgot the pizza. Sheesh.

Mr Tucker hasn't gone to full freak out mode yet. Although he's giving some real thought to getting under the bed, and a little while ago when we started getting the boxes ready he ran down the hall to his litter box. I guess we literally scared the crap out of him!

All packing starts with books. But since I didn't unpack every book I own when I first moved here, this should be a breeze. Then comes DVD's and CD's. After that, it's kind of a free for all just moving through the place and putting stuff in boxes. The kitchen is always last.

OK - break time over!

  1. Isn't moving so much fun? After my last move I had friends swear that they would never help me again if I didn't get rid of some of my books. Books pack easily, but they can sure add up the weight really quick.

    Good luck with the move.

  1. the kitchen has layers. the top few are easy. the bottom layers suck. get cake.

    smiles, bee

ooh GOOD LUCK! I'm a really lazy packer - I think we even had loose items in the car last time we moved. Hoping not to have to do it again for years now though.

Hope Mr Tucker calms down! He'll love the new place I'm sure.

Best Wishes for a smooth move to you all x

  1. Packing and unpacking - the scourge of moving. That and the cleaning.

Sure hope Mr. Tucker adjusts to the new digs well.

I'm with you on the books. We have soooooooo many books, it would take us eons to pack and move. Guess that's why we're staying here!

I like moving... but the PACKING...

I can remember packing the book-boxes - I had to unpack them again because they were much to heavy to carry =)

The books and the kitchen stuff sucked. The remains was fun... mostly *LOL*

    Good luck, Trav.

  1. John: I've decided several moves back that I wouldn't ask my friends to help me again. Hiring movers is a little expensive, but it saves friendships in the long run.

Bee: We have plans for a CAKE celebration after we're done!

TC: We'll have loose items too - those are going over during the week. Mr Tucker was in a box yesterday! So I guess he's making friends with the chaos!

Songbird: I only had to pack 6 boxes of books this time - the other 40 boxes were never unpacked! I'm sooooo looking forward to getting them all out in the new library!

Sanni: It's never easy or fun - but we're doing an awful lot of giggling this time. Hmmmm.

    Sick of pizza yet?

    How's your knee holding up?

    Has Mr Tucker freaked?

    I'm with Bee.. get cake.

    Thinking of you sweet bro.

    Hugs

When Lovely Wife and I were young and just starting out, we thought nothing of moving. It was before I screwed up my back and I could load U-Haul's 24ft truck with our house full of stuff in one afternoon. I was a moving machine, Lovely Wife was too.

If you told me I had to move now, I think I would go into a serious funk.

Good luck, and enjoy the pizza!

Good lookin' pizza there Mr. Travis!

Can't wait to see more pictures.

  1. My books are only rivaled by the albums. But they move in the containers they are stored in...it is just the weight...vinyl weighs a ton...

I need to do kitchen somewhere after the music so I can get the kitchen going when I get to my new abode...

But i always unpack it and then a few months later, reorganize it...never fails

    good luck my friend....

remember Mr. Tucker... remember Mr. Tucker....

  1. I wasn't allowed to pack books when we moved - I would be found, sitting there hours later, looking at all the books and reading some...

  1. Meribah says:

Oooo books! I'd help you pack if I could...but I would probably be more interested in looking at your books than packing anyway! LOL

  1. I've lived in this place for 16 1/2 years... hard to believe. I used to move fairly often. When moving I always started with the pictures off the walls and ornaments, that kind of thing, nice but not needed to live... then books, out of season clothes, etc. Even packed up most of the dishes and such when getting close to the end. Right down to what was most needed to live.

Moving is always hard on our pets. They know something is happening and are not sure what or how it will affect them. Good luck with your move.

  1. I don't really care to pack, but I'll take a break with ya. Whew...i'm tired already! :)

    Hope all is well...
