As I mentioned in the quick post below, I have been tagged by a new friend. Shelby at ...Time With Shelby has asked for eight random things about me. Since I've done this meme a couple of times recently, I thought I would focus on eight random things I love about living in the Puget Sound area.

1.Mt Ranier

2.The ferry to Bainbridge Island

3.The Seattle skyline

4.Pike Place Market

5.Pioneer Square shops and galleries

6.Lake Washington

7.I'm only about two hours from the Canadian border. This is the Peace Arch at the border between Washington State and British Columbia.

8.Starbuck's gets all the press, but Seattle is also famous for another coffee house that I actually prefer.

There you have it. I'm not tagging anyone, since I'm sure this meme has been around the block and back several times. Thanks to Shelby for giving me the chance to share some of the things I love about where I get to live every day.

  1. Julie says:

So I finally see Tully's! It's neat seeing the things that make you happy to live where you live.

    **hugs**

    Oh....Lake Washington is gorgeous! Wow!

    awesome list!!

I've never heard of Tully's.. I'll definetely have to check it out next time I'm up that way.

I so love the Pacific Northwest.

That's one beautiful skyline. We also have Starbucks here, but I like Seattle's best better. :-D

That is a great list of 8 wonderful things in your area. I'm about 3 hours north of the border at the Oroville/Osooyoos crossing.

    Have an awesome day, Trav.

    LUCKY LUCKY

    Beautiful

  1. I love those things about where you live, too. As a matter of fact, were it not for a twist of fate, we would be living there right now!

Where's the picture of Eddie Vedder? :)

  1. I'm on the first bus outta here! (Would that I could!)

  1. Lisa: I really do love it here.

Julie: Isn't it beautiful? And I live about 3 miles from that view.

Shelby: I don't think Tully's has gone national, certainly not like Starbuck's has.

Pauline: Well, average home price in the state is about $227k, in King County (where I live) about $319k. Median family income is anywhere from $44k to $62k. And it really doesn't rain all the time.

Lizza: Seattle's Best is really good too. It's always a bit of a letdown for me when I get a coffee at Starbucks.

Alice: I haven't been that far north yet - perhaps this summer.

Gail: I made that luck by bolting SoCal!!

Songbird: Even struggling through my first snowy winter, I wouldn't go back to the southern part of the country unless I absolutely had to do it.

Beck: Actually, I could do a post about Seattle music. We have a great museum dedicated to our rich and diverse musical history.

    Gracie: Plan a vacation!

Pike Place Market - is this the fish market where they famously throw the fish around and share some dubious banter?

I had a training video to sit through when I first joined my company (office job) - they showed the fish market, and they made lots of suggestions about how the fish market related to the office job which is a fund management company - I sell shares for clients) and how we should all joke around and throw fish to keep focused and relaxed(? I think that was the gist.. it was a while ago). At the end of the video we were each given a cuddly fish to put on our desks....

Otherwise - off to the book list.

  1. TC: Yup, that's the place. Although the fish market is the most famous attraction, there are lots of shops and restaurants that make up Pike's Place Market. Can you throw real fish around an office? I've never tried that. I prefer shooting peeps with nerf weapons, especially when they hoard the CAKE!

  1. Hi Travis! I'll have to add Puget Sound to my list of places to visit - the photos are gorgeous!

It's great to live in a place you love, isn't it? :)

  1. Beautiful looking area. I've never been to Seattle or that area, I think that looks like it would be worth a vacation destination.
