Can't stop the beat

I enjoyed this so much I just needed to share it today.

Choreography by Adam Shankman

I need to share it because it's upbeat and it makes me smile. I love the music and I love the dance. I saw ugliness yesterday in my trip through the bloggosphere and it disturbed my evening. I needed something to cheer me. So this is what I've chosen.

Hey y'all - people aren't idiots because they disagree with you. People aren't wrong because they disagree with you. You don't have the right to intimidate or harrass another person just because they disagree with you.

Do you want to be called an idiot because your opinion is different?

My blog, my place, my opinion. You are welcome to comment as long as you do so respectfully. You may disagree, but you don't have to be disagreeable.

Now I'll be listening to The Mo Show later on archive because I don't get home until after 5pm on the west coast. If you can listen live, give Mo a call or send him an IM. He's talking cats today gang.

Live on Blog Talk Radio 6:30-7:30pm EST
or listen to the archived version anytime after 7:30pm!

  1. Your comment made me feel much better... thank you! I've seen you over on The Couch.... I'll have to stop by more often :-)

  1. Lizza says:

That was some fantastic footwork, Trav. It's always great to see people doing stuff they excel in, and having fun doing it!

I agree with you, disagreement is fine. It's an exchange of thoughts, and that's good. But being nasty isn't.

  1. TopChamp says:

I love the dancing! We have a new one that has started. It's called DanceX and promises to be fairly bad tv... but also FANTASTIC tv as it's all about the dancing. I loved it. Paul hated it!!

As to the 2nd part of your post - I think you are great for this x

  1. Cup says:

I rarely write about politics on my blog for just that reason: the nastiness it brings to the comment boxes. I had to close comments about a year ago, things got so nasty.

So, can you dance like that?

  1. Schmoop says:

Travis, case in point....I hate the Dodgers and the Raiders, and yet I like you. Go Figure. Cheers!!

  1. Unknown says:

I´ll attend to The Mo Show, as usual. Jersey will keep my awake (nose-licks as soon as I close my eyes... bah!)

Will Mr Tucker call in this week???

    *smooch*

  1. I am shamelessly addicted to all things dancing...lol. I can't get enough and some people are just downright impressive. You dance?

  1. Julie says:

Hmmm....that video was really sweet, Travis. Thanks for sharing! I can't ever get enough dancing!

Oh...and about rude people...they're nothing but boorish, insensitive children.

    'Nuff said! Let it go!

    *hugs sweetie*

  1. Sometimes it's better to keep our mouths closed.

I can't see the video at work, will check it out tonight from the hotel.

  1. Ahhhh yes ... Mo's and his "pussy talk"... I'll be there!

  1. Sandee says:

You tell them Travis. Play nice! I agree.

I will be tuned in to the Mo Show this afternoon. Wouldn't miss it. Have a great day. :)

  1. Angell says:

Great clip Trav. I can't wait to eventually see that on Broadway or some other such theatrical venue. Meanwhile, I'll be checking it out on the big screen.

Ugliness through the blogosphere? Nah - couldn't be... could it..?

SIGH - can't we all just get along?

SMOOCHES Trav - hugs to Pam.

  1. kinda amazing how intense people get just cause you don't agree with them....makes me just want to be more disagreeable...

(and by the way I agree with Matt-Man....smile)

  1. Anndi says:

Glad I managed to avoid ugliness.. but it makes me think twice about blogging..

I'll be back later for the dancin'!

Love ya bro.. my Jiminy Cricket you!!

  1. 108: You're welcome.

Lizza: Yes, exchange of ideas can be productive - it's hard work, but it's productive.

TC: The more dancing shows the better I say!

Beth: I try to stay clear of controversy - that's not why I blog. I can dance, but not like that.

Matt: We are men of peace and understanding!

Sanni: Mr Tucker won't have access to the cell phone because I'll still be at work, but he may have figured out how to use the laptop for IM.

108: I love to dance. My lady and I sometimes take ballroom class.

Julie: That's my favorite group dance so far this season.

Dix: Sometimes it is better, and sometimes it's so difficult. Strong emotion can overcome our better sense.

Comedy: We won't always agree, and sometimes we'll piss each other off. That's human nature. But we can make every effort to curb that nature, and we should at least try.

Angell: I don't think we can. Too much to disagree on and too many strong emotions and opinions. I think we just need to be aware that so many people now have access to our words - and they'll have equally strong reactions to them. So take care what you post and anticipate what the reaction to it might be.

Katherine: Are you threatening me with harsh language about my sports affiliations??? Hmmmm??? I'm a Lakers fan too!! HA!

Ann: There are always going to be people who agree and disagree with you. And there will be people who let their passions dictate their actions, whether we blog or don't blog.

  1. I don't know what the brouhaha was, but I love your line Trav, that we can disagree, just don't be disagreeable.
Thanks for promoting The Mo Show!
    I appreciate it greatly!
    cheers,
    mo

  1. Travis, you're one of the good guys, like Mo. I really like guys like you! It all boils down to R-E-S-P-E-C-T. I'm a WestCoast conservative but I'm not a screaming lunatic, either. We have a schism in the US right now and all I want is to heal the gap. If we respect each other and our different views, maybe there's hope for all of us! It's the hate that stands to do us all in (on both sides).

  1. Trav, my dear, I have tagged you for Kyra's new meme =)

  1. The good thing about blogging is that we can say things on OUR blogs that we want to say. But, when you say things that are hurtful to other people, you have to be prepared for some backlash. People should be respectful when they leave comments. But, politics will always lead to harsh words in the end...it just can't be avoided. There are too many different and opposing views. Most people, generally speaking can't "agree to disagree". That's why I talk about snot nosed kids and crazy working mommy stuff on my blog. Leaves no room for hateful comments! *LOL*
I hope whatever was said here, or wherever it was said didn't cut you too deep Trav. You're a great guy and I think that people should be able to talk about things in a civil manner, but sometimes it just doesn't work like that.
Keep your chin up. We ♥ ya!

  1. Mo: You're welcome!

    Gracie: Thanks my dear.

Starr: I will check it out.

CWM: Everything you say is correct. Maybe if people could refrain from calling each other names when they disagree?

  1. Anndi says:

SMOOCH.. ok! Got your point... oh Wise Big Bro!

Dang! I can't see the dancin'!!

  1. Anonymous says:

Yup, I don't think name calling is ever a good idea Trav. It's not a good way to get your point across for sure. :(
