Mo's Manic Monday - Lie

Welcome to another Manic Monday with Morgen. Don't forget to visit MM HQ at It's A Blog Eat Blog World. Today's theme is Lie.

This is the first thing I thought of when I saw the MM word.

Would I Lie To You, Eurythmics

This is the second thing...Mr Tucker lies about with his 1,000 yard stare.

And this is another thing I thought...Young George Washington Would Not Tell a Lie, as told by Parson Weems. Click here to view the little story most Americans know.

Oh! And then I thought of this...being from California and then residing outside of Seattle, I'm hyper-aware of earthquakes. There are 13 known major faults in the Puget Sound area. Here's a map showing where those faults actually lie.

So that's my lame post for Lie. Be sure to go visit some of the other Manic Monday regulars because I'm sure they did much better with this word than I did.

Later babies!

  1. I liked how you incorporated the word lie into all those different topics... :)

I love that song Travis. There isn't anything lame about this post. You are too hard on yourself. Oh, I didn't know about all the faults in your area. Yikes. I live in California so I worry about earthquakes all the time. Have a great MM Travis. :)

  1. No lie, this was a great MM post!
Mr Tucker, lying around, made me smile.
    Eurythmics made me have nostalgia.
And fault lines in the sound made me go, Hmmm, I didn't know that.

  1. Terra: Thanks - but I think that was mostly luck.

Ian: It's one of my favorites from Eurythmics - Annie had one of the finest voices in rock, IMO.

    V: Thanks, but it's a little lame.

Matt: I will be rockin on until they close the door on the incinerator (sp).

    Sarge: I appreciate that Sarge.

    Sanni: Me too!

Bee: Now I should have thought about that - I could have done a layer CAKE. It's a stretch, but layer could be a form of lie.

Comedy: I don't worry too much about earthquakes. But I am aware of them and I do know that scientists agree we're due for quite a shaker up here.

Mo: Thank you Sir! I was well aware of the Cascadia trench off the coast, but less knowledgeable about the other faults and how they cross the area.

Chloe: Mr Tucker says Yow Mrow Mow prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I believe that means you are very sweet to say so.

I think you did a great job, Travis! You pulled together different meanings of the word and shared some interesting stuff. While I don't believe that such a father ever existed, it was still a neat story (most fathers would've kicked the kid's butt for cutting down the cherry tree, especially back in those times). When living in such an earthquake zone it I don't know if knowing where all the faults lie would be good or not, but interesting none the less. :o)

Happy MM and a wonderful week to you.

WOOFnderful post, Mr. T. Mom's cat lies on her bed and I'm not allowed up there...grrrrrr. Makes me jealous.

Happy Manic Monday. I sure would like some more of those Scooby Snacks. Mom can't buy 'em here.

  1. NOLADawn says:

LOVE that song!! And, who couldn't love a kitty lying around???

  1. Linda says:

The Eurythmics were one of the first groups I thought with a "Lie" song when I was thinking about what to write for this topic.

Good use of the word all the way around - very creative - and that's no lie!

  1. not so lame Trav.

    I love that song.

  1. Alice: That story about George and the cherry tree is a fable that most American school kids learn - at least it was when I was a kid.

Reba: Well of course you may have Scooby snacks!

Wolfbaby: I will tell Mr Tucker you said so.

    Noladawn: Really!

    Linda: Many thanks.

Katherine: I also thought of Liar from Three Dog Night, but I couldn't find a video.

  1. Unknown says:

  1. Neila says:

Very nice uses of lie! I've always been a fan of the Eurythmics!

  1. Julie says:

Just because you had several thoughts and didn't fully elaborate doesn't make it lame, my friend.

Your comments will support that thought!

    *hugs*

  1. Ambre: I bookmarked your site as well. Welcome to MM!

    Shelby: Thanks!

Starrlight: Oh! That one looks interesting.

    Neila: Me too!
