I just realized that there's no dancing. Dangit.

We're in the home stretch with my author list. I've been getting some updates on Good Reads, which reminds me that I need to pay a little more attention to my "to read" list. I've seen some good recommendations recently too.

I'm still involved in Harry Potter at the moment. I'm reading through Half Blood Prince in preparation for a second reading of Deathly Hallows. Of course, that means I have a stack of books waiting for me. That's a good thing.

So here's my latest list of 13 authors from my library. If you want to review previous lists, click here.

As a reminder, here are the ratings: (NR) Not Recommended, (R) Recommended, (HR) Highly Recommended, (RR) Really Recommended. If I haven't read the book, I won't put a code for the author unless I'm familiar with other work.

1. Martin Cruz Smith (R) - Gorky Park
2. I have 81 Star Trek books by various authors. I recommend them all if you like Star Trek.
3. John Steinbeck (R) - East of Eden
4. Roger Stern (R) - The Death and Life of Superman
5. Judith Tarr - The Hound and the Falcon Trilogy
6. Keith Taylor - Bard I and II
7. Sheri S. Tepper - The True Game
8. Josephine Tey - I have two anthologies of three stories each.
9. J.R.R. Tolkien (RR) - The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion, The Book of Lost Tales 1 & 2
10. Nikolai Tolstoy - The Coming of the King
11. Robert Traver - Anatomy of a Murder
12. Margaret Truman - Murder at the Watergate
13. Harry Turtledove - Guns of the South, The Videssos Cycle 1-4

I didn't make it around to blogs tonight. Mr Tucker required my attention, and how would you say no to this face?

  1. Indeed! Those eyes would be hard to say "No" to.
Your reading list is quite a bit more intellectual than mine! I'd have to engage the brain if I tackled yours!

  1. Bond says:

Mr. Tucker can come sit on the Couch with you...LOL we are pet friendly

Once again your list of books shames me

  1. Pauline says:

Your lists of books make me wonder if you live in a library, or maybe like me you have groaning bookshelves in every room and boxes of books stashed all over the place.

Mr. Tucker has a very sweet face and if he's anything like my cats, he knows how to use that to his greatest advantage - and why not?

  1. Very cute kitty.

I really like Sheri Tepper's books.

  1. What a cute kitty! However, I'm choking on that Raider icon in your sidebar. Happy TT!

  1. Turnbaby says:

    He's TOO CUTE!!!

  1. Awww.... I love the picture of Mr Tucker - those eyes say so much!
I wanted to let you know that although I've been crazy busy at work, I've been meaning to come over here and read the fairy tale you wrote for your friend's children (which, by the way, is so sweet!) I finally had a chance to read back today through the first 3 installments, and Travis, my goodness, it is absolutely delightful! Can't wait to read more...

  1. Blogger ate my comment.
As I was saying...I could not say "no" to Mr. Tucker and I totally agree with Bond's assessment of your reading materials. Does put one to shame.

    (hiding magazine.....)

  1. 81?

I just finished reliving my Star Trek museum visit with Mo....laughing.

  1. wolfbaby says:

ok it's almost uncanny some of the same books we have;)

excellant library hmmm i may have to come visit just to admire it someday *grin*

as for mr. Tucker, im not a cat person and i think he is adorable so that is saying alot. Not just any ol kitty fits the bill here neither. there is no way you could turn down that face non at tall

    he is adorable;)

  1. Comedy + says:

I would not say no to Mr. Tucker. I love your rating system here too. You are just so clever. Have a great day Travis. :)

  1. I love Margaret Truman's mysteries - cerebral and thought-provoking. I own all of her Capital Crimes series, but I haven't read the last two yet. Life keeps getting in the way...

  1. Travis says:

Gracie: Well, there's plenty of silliness in there too!

V: I'm actually kind of ashamed that there are so many books on the shelf that I haven't read - gifts from family that I just haven't gotten to yet.

Pauline: Mr Tucker does use that look very well. I used to have boxes and boxes stuffed everywhere. But now they are all overflowing on the shelves. As soon as I solve my camera problem I should post some more pictures of it.

Ann: Welcome. I read the Tepper ages ago and can't remember it.

Joely: I will not apologize for my membership in Raider Nation!! LOL!

Turn: And he sure knows it!

  1. Travis says:

TJ: I'm glad you liked it. I'll post a little more soon.

Mimi: LOL! I love books and I love reading.

Katherine: Yup, 81. I'd have more but I got out of the habit of collecting them ages ago.

Wolfbaby: Well, we're both wolves so it's only natural that we would have similar likes.

Comedy: I should go back to previous lists and put the ratings in. Thanks!

Songbird: I think I read the one Truman book I have but I can't remember it.

  1. I coulod certainly NOT say no to that face! :)

Television was bland tonight with no dancing, hmmm?

    Have a good day!

  1. Shelby says:

    great list once again :)

  1. Julie says:

**jumps up and down beyond all reason for as tired as she is screaming and yelling for joy**

    Ummm....I have The Hobbitt too!!

    **slinks off feeling very silly**

  1. Travis says:

CWM: Well, we looked for football or baseball instead. It's that time of year, so we'll be ok until Sept 24 when Dancing With the Stars returns.

    Shelby: Thanks.

Julie: Wooooooooooo!!! You're so cute when you're all girly!

  1. I had totally forgotten about Tey and Truman. Thanks!!!!
