  1. I mentioned elephant ears (fried dough) in my post yesterday and thought I'd post a visual today.

    Luv em!

Thanks for the connection to the $50K Meme. I saw the title on your WW and thought "Fried dough, eww" but then I remembered that essentially is a donut! Duh!

Also, I forgot to mention in my other comment that this year I will be a Raiders fan, but it's because I follow a player, not a team. I went to UCF with Daunte (actually had a couple classes with him) so I am really hoping the knee is good. It seems to be, now if he can just handle taking a snap without fumbling, and wouldn't it have been nice if you still had Moss to catch for Culpepper?

  1. Michael: LOL! I've kind of settled in for the long haul on the rebuilding and I'm not expecting too much from my Raiders this season. I do wish Culpepper success, but I'm definitely glad Moss is gone. I want a team that competes on every down.

    LOLOL at the sign!!!

The DH is trying to make me go to the State Fair. I'm holding back because I can't go to the Horse Show and it will be too hard to 'be' there and not really get to 'be' there. I know-- too cryptic ;-)

  1. Shelby says:

    as Rachel Ray says, "yummo."

  1. Ahhhhhhhh yes... fair food... it's almost that time of year!!! Yippeeeeeeee!!!!!

You know, I mentioned elephant ears to my wife's family out here in CA, and they looked at me like I was crazy.

  1. you can still get elephant ears at the California Rodeo (Row-day-oh)...totally decadent and yummy

  1. Oh, yum! I grew up eating elephant ears at the Indiana State Fair. Out in my neck of the woods, they call this Indian Fry Bread. Same diff, but with new toppings. Love me a Navajo Taco!

  1. Sandee says:

Not participating, but now I'm hungry. Looks good and fattening too. Have a great day. :)

  1. Turn: A little cryptic, but I think I understand.

    Shelby: Aboslutely!

Dix: We should get a free pass to eat all the sugary fried foods we want at fair time.

Diesel: Do they know them by a different name??

Katherine: If I see a stand, I just can't pass by.

Songbird: We have them at car shows throughout the summer.

    Matt: Yum-OH!

Bee: Almost as good as CAKE!

Julie: Share??? What is this share you speak of?

    Joy: Now that sounds delicious!

V: On the other side of the beer hall...we can get a cold one on the way over.

    Sarge: It's a must!

Comedy: I figure we do so much walking at the fair that any extra calories would be worked off just in time for another one!

  1. Unknown says:

Ahh! Now the name makes sense, thanks Trav!

  1. Linda says:

I know I'm a few days late on this one but when I saw the picture of fried dough I just couldn't help myself. Just like Pavlov's dog I immediately started drooling at just the site of a plate of fried dough! For a carbohydrate starved woman that just looks like heaven on earth to me! I'm going to go whimper in the corner now ... ;-)

  1. Pauline: You are most welcome. I'm always glad to pass on a little food edumacation.

    Linda: I know the feeling!
