In memory of the 2,571 civilians killed on American Airlines Flight 11, United Airlines Flight 175, American Airlines Flight 77, United Airlines Flight 93, at the World Trade Center, and at the Pentagon.

With deepest gratitude to the 343 FDNY fire fighters, 23 NYPD officers, and 37 Port Authority police officers killed at the World Trade Center. Their dedication to service found them running toward danger on that Tuesday morning six years ago.

The images from that day are with me still, as sharp and clear as the day it happened.

Even though I live in England and have no connection to anyone who lost someone on that dreadful day, the memory of the loss caused by the sheer wickedness of that act of violence will stay with me forever.
It is the worst thing I have ever witnessed albeit via TV. My thoughts are with those who lost someone, long may their loved ones be remembered along with the heroism of the rescuers who helped the survivors.

  1. Yes, I remember everything well from that day. Sometimes I wish I didn't.

My stomach has been tight all morning--I know where I was and what I did and I don't enjoy how vivid it all remains. Maybe because it's all this time later and it's still unresolved as more men and women die.

I remember exactly what I was doing when I heard the news. I was eating lunch, scrambled eggs as I recall. When I saw the images on TV, I couldn't believe what had happened. It was like something out of a movie!
Anyway, you've made a beautiful tribute, Trav. Good job.
