Felines on Friday

So we're down to one more sleep before the folks get back and take their kitties home. Pam and I have really enjoyed these two sweet guys. They haven't fussed at us at all for not being able to go outside.

Being country guys, I think some of the city type noises have warned them off. They enjoy sitting in the window sills and on the screened in balcony. But they haven't tried to sneak out the front door when we leave.

Plus, they've been perfect gentlemen with Mr Tucker. And he has been the well mannered host. The boys brought their green scratcher rug, and Mr Tucker has been kind enough to rub his smell all over it so they won't miss him too much when they go home.

Mr Newby has been camera shy. Which is odd, because when they are in their own element it's Mr Bailey who is Adventure Cat and can't be bothered to socialize. But Mr Bailey has been the lover the last two weeks, spending snuggle time on the sofa and being very curious about goings on about the place. He likes to walk along the dresser or the back of the sofa when one of us walks by.

Mr Newby likes to nap under the bed or on the recliner in the living room. Although he's been camera shy, I was able to get him during a quiet moment.

It's been really fun to have all three cats with us. And if the boys don't take well to travelling in the new motor home with the folks, then we'll definitely keep them again. I suspect that these two will enjoy adventures in camping though.

The one picture that has eluded me is the three of them together. I've got a little more time to get it.

  1. Glad you have enjoyed your guests and they you....but of course you and your Lady and Mr. Tucker are the perfect hosts

  1. Blogger ate my comment again.
    I was sleepwalking.
    And dreaming about George Clooney.
    Somebody tucked me in.
Then I heard yelling in the castle.
    Got up.Got a cookie.
Wafted over here to check on the cats.
I wish people would stop yelling in Bloggingham. I'm trying to sleep!

  1. V: It's really been fun. Two humans and three cats actually can co-exist in this space.

Mimi: Uhm...see...it's like this...I was trying to be quiet. I really was. And then I heard some rattling...it was probably the chains in the dungeon. And I lost my head and started shouting for people to shut up. And then Vinny came and smacked me and reminded me to be quiet. You're not really awake now, so take your cookie and go back and lay down. George is waiting for you.

good luck catching that snap... cat's aren't always very obliging for the camera I find.

I had to hiss at Dixie this morning as he was in hunter mode(I have scratches on my knee from night-time playing which didn't wake me up)and tried to eat my foot when I got out of bed. Bad cat!

All three of these handsome cats are precious. I bet you and Pam will really miss "the boys" when they go with your parents. I'm happy they were such good house guests. They'll be glad to get home to the country where they can again go out to play.

Wishing you and yours all a wonderful weekend.

  1. this is such a cute story I almost became a cat person ....almost...

TC: I did get Mr Newby with Mr Tucker this morning. But Mr Bailey kept dashing through the frame.

Imma: We will miss them. They have been so adaptable. We've been reassuring them that they'll get to go home soon though.

Katherine: Cat's rock! I love dogs too.

Turn: Don't you just love to see a cat stretch out and enjoy the sunshine?

Pauline: You may compliment them as many times as you like...they love a good compliment!

Shelby: They are definitely well cared for, and they return the love in kind.

Looks to me like Mr. Tucker is going to miss that green scratching rug when the boys take it back with them! Perhaps he needs one of his own?

  1. You're lucky all three get along so well. Sometimes it doesn't work out quite so well where cats are concerned. They're all very cute.

  1. lucky duck!! and i LOVE that photo of the one in the sunlight with the shadows... you should do something nice with that one.

  1. CWM: We had great subjects!

Steven: Chez Trav & Pam is quite the vacation spot.

Linda: We have been thinking about getting some kind of rug for in front of the patio door...maybe sooner rather than later.

Charles: They are each terrific as individuals too.

Bee: I have a couple of good shots that I can frame out.

Ann: We couldn't get them to stay still long enough to go for the duct tape!

Wolfbaby: We got lucky to have three wonderful personalities.

    Meri: Just for snuggles, right?

    Janna: He's a real giver!

Julie: Some cats do, some cats don't.
