Marines selected to serve a two year ceremonial tour with the Silent Drill Platoon continue to train as infantry.



Recruit Caffrey, otherwise known as Dixie's boy Matt, graduates boot camp in less than a month. Proud Mama is putting together a scrap book for her future Marine. Won't you cruise on by Dixie's Heart and Soul and contribute a word or two of support?

    Ooo-rah is oooo-yeah! When we were stationed up at Bangor NSB, we had the privilege of seeing a silent drill team.

    Sigh.

    seriously my dad was in the marines and well i loved nothing better then going to visit him on his lunch break during the summer *blink*

    I've seen the silent drill team several times and their precision and professionalism never cease to amaze me. They are wonderful representatives for the corps.

    The discipline and skill that these men need to perform such precision is phenomenal. I never tire of watching them perform. I guess it's my military background! Either that or I just love a man in a uniform!

    Very nice post! I'm sure Dixie will be thrilled.

    Wow, for someone who can't walk across a room without tripping, that is positively amazing! I've seen them before on TV but it still gives me chills!
    Thanks for having such a big heart for Dixie and Matt. I saw her post tonight and was hoping she'd get a good response. Well, I think you've helped her along!
