A little more than yesterday

Posted: Wednesday, December 05, 2007 by Travis Cody in

Yesterday I had what can only be described as "a day". I won't bore you with the details because they aren't important.

Well, that's not true. I'm not going into details because it isn't appropriate or necessary to do so.

What is important is the tremendous support I received from a special group of people. Y'all know who you are and you may have your choice of hugs, gropes, licks, kisses, high fives, fist bumps, or chest thumps. Hell, treat it like a buffet of affection and make your own combinations.

I've been saving up some awards, and this is a good time to bask in the glow of some blog honors. I hope I haven't missed anyone. If I did, it is completely unintentional.

Sandee from Comedy Plus makes me laugh. And Dixie from Dixie's Heart and Soul makes me proud. Both of these wonderful ladies gave me this nifty badge last month.

Does anyone know why the guy in the Sweet Treat badge is wearing a diaper? It's a what? OH! He's a candy corn guy! I get it...a treat that's sweet. The ever royal Mimi from Mimi Writes gave me this one.

Dear Sandee and my new friend Misty Dawn from My Dogs Keep Me Sane gave me this one with the kitties.

Linda from Are We There Yet said some very nice things about me yesterday.

Travis writes some of the most detailed and well-written posts that I have seen anywhere in the Blogosphere. I am always impressed and awed when I stop by his blog - plus he leaves some damn fine comments, too! Even though it isn't a requirement of this award, he is a man with a romantic streak who isn't afraid to show it and that speaks volumes because it means he writes from his heart and I applaud that, I really do.

And then she gave me this way cool badge.

I'm terrible about passing these kinds of things on. I enjoy so many different blogs from so many different types of bloggers. Sandee has a great idea...sometimes she passes the badges on to everyone in her blog roll.

Inclusive. Community. Friends. Compliments.

I needed some of that last night.

  1. Roger says:

Nice awards Trav! Good day to you!!

  1. You deserve all the kudos, Trav. You write a thought-provoking, inspiring blog, and that's why people come back again and again.

Thanks for the comment on my latest post. Your thoughts were insightful and dead on. They gave me pause.

  1. Jeff B says:

Today sounds like it is shaping up to be a better one for you. Whaahooo!

You're a great part of the blogging community. Thanks for keeping it real bro.

  1. It's because we love you Travis. You are one of my favorite blogs to visit. Linda is right about your writing skills.

I don't know what happened, and don't need to know, but good vibes coming your way along with this great big {{{{{hug}}}}}. :)

  1. yeah that. and cake. hope things are better today honey!

    smiles, bee

  1. You deserve all of those and more. You ARE a fab writer.

I'm not in your secret society (lol) but I hope whatever it is you're going through gets better.
I've had my shots and everything though....just in case.

Oh heck. I'll just make my own secret society.

  1. Anndi says:

A girl couldn't ask for a better big bro.

  1. Linda says:

I hope that whatever was wrong yesterday remains a part of yesterday and doesn't follow you into your tomorrows.

You deserve every award you get and more - we love you! And thanks for the buffet of affection, I tried a little bit of everything except the chest thumps as those tend to give me heartburn!

  1. Turnbaby says:

You deserve all of these and more--you are a great friend Trav.

  1. Dana says:

Maybe we can get Anndi to speak some French to you.

  1. Jeni says:

I definitely agree with all those who gave you those awards and especially so with Linda's choice there too! You do write a really great blog. I try to visit every day but don't always comment when your topic is sports or "Dancing With The Stars." I don't follow the tv show at all and am not up at all on the football stuff. Now thirty years ago, I might have ventured a toe in the pond with respect to the football stuff, but not today -way too out of touch there. (That doesn't mean I don't read those posts though, ya know.)

  1. Travis says:

Matt: It was better, but that's relative.

    Roger: Welcome!

Songbird: Just thought I'd leave you with a different perspective.

    Jeff: Thanks dude.

    Sandee: Awwwww shucks.

Bee: A little better. But I need some CAKE.

Mimi: Hehehehehe. You never know. The seekrit society could be so seekrit that you could be a part of it and not know!

    Charles: Thanks!

  1. Travis says:

    Kyra: Well, today wasn't yesterday.

    Akelamalu: Thanks!

    Ann: Hugs.

Linda: Hehehehehehe! I'll remember about the chest thumps.

    Turn: Thank you dear.

    Dana: LOL!

Jeni: I try to be well rounded.

  1. Julie says:

OH yeah......"a buffet of affection"! Ooooh la la!

    LMOO @ Mimi's secret society~!

Congratulations to the fella with the chest big enough to wear all these awards!

  1. Steven says:

Glad you're back and displaying your awards proudly!! Congrats!!

  1. lisa says:

Hope today is a better day! we need those bad days sometimes to truly appreciate the good ones. I am happy you are blessed with wonderful friends and family.

  1. Bond says:

Catching up and coming in for the chest bump and high five and even a manly hug...

  1. Travis says:

    Julie: **flexes** LOL!

Steven: Thanks! I need to get back to recognizing these more timely.

Lisa: Me too. It's tough to feel too sorry for yourself when friends and family are making you laugh.

    V: Right back atcha.
