Friday Felines

After taking last weekend to get acclimated, the houseguests are settling into a nice routine.

They are country gentlemen, used to spending a good portion of their day outdoors. So far they've been happy to spend a bit of time in the evenings on the screened-in balcony. But it gets chilly pretty fast as the sun goes down, so they don't mind coming indoors for dinner.

Dinner is fishies - we're talking Friskies brand canned cat food. Mr Newby is the glutton, while Mr Bailey nibbles. Being the gentlemen that they are, they give Mr Tucker pride of place as The Cat of the house. Mr Tucker gets his fishies first, and then Mr Newby and Mr Bailey.

It all ends up in one plate before lights out...but the proprieties must be observed.

Now after dinner is when it gets fun. One of them will get a fuzzy mouse and start tossing it. The other two will watch this, and plot the best way to steal the fuzzy mouse for his own. It doesn't matter that there are several other fuzzy mice. They all want the same one!

Gradually, all three kitties begin to settle down as evening nap time approaches. Mr Bailey will sit on the kitty condo in the big library window, observing with his spectral night vision. Mr Newby prowls between the two bedroom windows. Mr Tucker relaxes in front of the fireplace or on one of the green sratchy rugs.

Then it'll get very quiet. And Mr Tucker will be snuggled between Pam and I on the sofa. Mr Bailey will be in the little bed in the closet. And Mr Newby will be on his blanket on our bed.

Last night when we got ready for bed, we found the two houseguests snuggled together on our bed. I guess it's shaping up to be a very domestic couple of months while they are here.

I'm working on more new pictures. They are surprisingly shy when it comes to the camera. Mr Bailey is on the left and Mr Newby on the right.

The cake looks better than the catfood:)

  1. Somewhere (good luck with that!) I have a photo of "Kizzie," the spittin' image of the gray cat, on an animal print throw, almost like this one! Hope I can find it!

Sounds like the gentlemen are all getting along quite well and settling into a nice routine! Nice to hear that they're so polite when it comes to the fishies, too! Other house guests could take lessons from these fellas!

I am so glad they are settling in! My cats LOVES Friskies--he'll be right over!

  1. Cathy: Not to the cat bloggosphere. LOL!

Gracie: They love their blanket. But I had it in another spot for the first few days, and I guess they didn't know where it was, or the spot wasn't comfy enough. They like it just fine now on the bed.

Matt: Agreed. And now I get to watch three of them.

Roger: I guess I'll have to negotiate with them, cause it's damn difficult to sneak up on a cat.

Bee: Two of your favorite things!

Songbird: It's peaceful until they decide to eat each other. I'm sure that'll happen sooner or later.

Sarge: Now that's an idea. Wonder if I can make any money off them while I have them.

Charles: These guys will eat nothing but the fishies...they won't touch turkey or anything else.

Linda: Now if I could just get them to stop tossing the litter out of the litter box.

Lana: I thought the condo would start to feel small with the two of us plus 3 cats, but it's very homey.

    Lois: They are!

    Akelamalu: Yup!

    Sandee: Welcome back!

Bridget: I'm just glad Mr Tucker is so accepting of the two of them. That doesn't often happen with 3 males, especially when he's so much older than they are.

  1. Amy: Hi! I've been doing this for awhile.

  1. How did you get a picture of Tokyo and Casey? Those two cats at the bottom are identical twins to my house kitties. I'll have to post pics of them sometime.

Have a great weekend. Hope you are feeling better.

  1. SO happy everyone is settling in nicely...

But then again, you offer a welcoming, warm, loving environment, so why should they not...

Awwwww, what beautiful kitties you have there! I miss having a kitty to snuggle up with. The only cat I have now is the barn cat, but I can't bring him in because he might bring in fleas...and those critters are difficult to get out once they're in!

  1. Dixie: I'm feeling much better. I think I'm over the worst.

    CWM: Thanks!

    Julie: It's fun!

    Jamie: Awwww shucks.

    V: Well, I won't let them go outside and kill stuff...so that's a negative.

    Meri: No fleas!
