Well, the kitties have called a truce and all parties have honored it so far.

I made some blog rounds this evening. I didn't get to all the blogs I enjoy.

I'm cheating today. How about 13 random images?

1. These are shoulder pads from the early 1900's.

2. Antique books.

3. I need to get me some new headphones.

4. Next time you see one, thank a fire fighter.

5. Yum-OH!

6. I dream of owning a 1956 Tbird.

7. Get down with your bad self!

8. Has anyone seen the Mars Rising program on the Science Channel about what it will take for a manned mission to Mars?

9. Finally got my copy.

10. If you've never been to Yosemite National Park in California, you should make plans to go. This is Half Dome.

11. First Lieutenant Audie L. Murphy USA (20 June 1925 – 28 May 1971) is the most decorated soldier from WWII. He is a personal hero of mine.

12. The Medal of Honor.

  1. I always love watching random images. Ya never know what you might like!

I posted my first Thursday Thirteen post here.

  1. Great collection of pics. I got caught up with the pic of the steak, though and it took me a while to break away.

  1. Schmoop says:

Shouldn't your new book be titled...

    Taylor Hicks: American Ear-i-tant.

    Cheers Trav!!

  1. Oneluvgurl: I'll cruise on by your place soon.

Charles: Me too on the steak pic. In fact, I think I know what Friday date night is going to include.

    Matt: Nope.

  1. Sandee says:

I too loved Audie L. Murphy. Have you noticed that back then all the actors enlisted? Now they are all anti military. That's why I don't watch television or go to the movies. They are not my heros. Very well done as always Travis. Have a great TT. :)

  1. I've seen the pic of those 2 cats before, but it had the caption, "No, I swear! The fish was THIS BIG!" *LOL*

  1. Nissa says:

It's not cheating to post images. :) I love randomness.
    Happy T13!

the steak looks divine!! Great pics you chose. Have a great Thursday, Travis.

  1. Gee, Travis, you've picked such interesting pictures! My nephew is in the Marines - he spent 6 months in Iraq. He's home and safe! :)

  1. Linda says:

Love these images! I've been to Yosemite several times and there is no place else like it in the country as far as I'm concerned. It's breathtaking!

And I most definitely thank a firefighter as often as I can - especially the volunteers!

  1. Ah... Audie Murphy. Dean had a mentor who was very well known and had won the Audie Murphy Award... even after he had gotten an Article 15.

  1. COOL IMAGES

So, you had your own little Sharks and Jets battle going on in the house... did you find cigarette butts and shivs hidden?

Matt just does not know when to quit does he?

  1. TopChamp says:

the mountain is amazing. We have very beautiful scenery here - but with you the landscape seems so dramatic.

  1. I would have to say that the last one is my all time favorite... ;-)

    SMOOCHES~

  1. Sandee: A lot of them served in one way or another.

Lana: I've seen some other funny captions with that photo too.

    Nissa: YAY! I'm glad I didn't cheat.

Bridget: I should have found a nice baked potato and some asparagus to go with it.

Teach: I appreciate your nephew's service and am glad he made it through.

Linda: I used to live about 90 minutes from Yosemite, and then I got to spend a summer working in the park. It's one of my all time favorite places.

Kyra: I really admire his persistance and perseverance, and his courage.

V: Luckily the combatants stuck to skin for their little rumble.

TC: The thing I enjoy is that there is such diversity...from beaches to mountains to incredible valleys and lakes - and that's just in California!

Dix: Yeah, I thought you might.

    Very interesting list, Trav. :)
    I love randomness.

  1. Anndi says:

Thank you for number 4... it's MY favourite.

    HUGS

  1. love half dome, though I am a cheap spectator. Spent a sleepless week the first time the lad went on a backpacking trip with scouts out there though, Yup, they climbed.
And I most certainly would grille up a fab steak like that one for a firefighter . . . given the opportunity ;)

  1. Unknown says:

Glad to see that cat wars have subsided. Love the pics especially the old books, I'm just mad about old books!

  1. Jay says:

Nice, I think you can be forgiven for cheating. :)

  1. CWM: Random can be most excellent.

    Ann: They are real heroes.

Dallas: I've never climbed Half Dome. I usually stay in the valleys and look up at everything.

Pauline: Me too on both counts!

    Jay: Thanks!

  1. Julie says:

    Oooh yeah.....great pics Mr. Cody!

    I still haven't picked up Taylor's book....I'm so bad.

I saw Audie's tomb a few years back.

I missed you while I was "gone".

**heads off to more Trav thoughts**

  1. Travis, you asked how I got all the icons on the bottom bar of my computer screen. I have a PC do you? If you have an Apple it's different.

But on a PC you can put anythimg in that "Quick Launch" bar. Just left click on any icon on your desktop or in your programs and hold down the button then move and drop the icon on the bar.

  1. I had a look at your cat photo's and love the description you give them.

  1. I like this randomness. It makes sense to me.

And I came here to see no sports??! Did the world end while I primped?

  1. Jeff B says:

Why do they call it half dome?

    Bwahahaha

I didn't make it for TT this week, but I love your idea of using images! Hope you're having a great weekend.

  1. I so want that steak! I love antique books too, Trav. Books in general are my babies. Have you been to Powells book store in Portland? You'd love it. It's a whole city block and it is jammed.

  1. Julie: I started reading the book last night and I'm enjoying it.

Teach: I'm such a tech ijit. Thanks for the tutorial!

Middle Ditch: Thanks and welcome to my place.

Mimi: Don't worry...this place will be wall to wall Super Bowl on Sunday.

    Jeff: Bwahahahahahahahahahaha

Joely: The weekend has been splendid so far.

Starr: I haven't been there, but we have a place called Half Price Books here that I go to a lot.
