Just a little random Saturday

I love my cat and I understand he's coming off a tough couple of months of sharing his place and his peeps with a couple of houseguests. But really!!! This clingy stuff has got to stop!

I hate getting so far behind in my blog rounds, but I so enjoy spending Saturday morning catching up with what I missed from y'all during the week.

Did anyone else have trouble with Blogger today? I had a few comments disappear during my rounds. Then there were Google server errors. It took forever to get a blank post form to come up. Then I had trouble saving my post. I did the smart thing and saved my random thoughts in MS Word.

It really sucks when I follow the directions to hook something up and then it doesn't work. Tech ijit that I am, I don't know if I still hooked it up wrong or if it's just broken.

Happy March!

I got tired of fighting with Google and Blogger, so I took a break to go do some work on my music project. Today I came across a Tom Petty tape. I'm not a huge Petty fan, although I do enjoy a lot of his music. The tape I archived today is Full Moon Fever. Those of you familiar with Petty will agree with me when I say there isn't a bad track on this tape.

Free Fallin'
I Won't Back Down
Love Is A Long Road
A Face In The Crowd
Runnin' Down A Dream
Feel A Whole Lot Better
Yer So Bad
Depending On You
The Apartment Song
Alright For Now
A Mind With A Heart Of It's Own
Zombie Zoo

Remember Mimi's Message in a Bottle Meme? If you scroll down my side bar there you'll see the original message I did, along with a link to a blog where you can see at least another 130 more! I thought of another one today.

One of my favorite singers is Andy Williams. This song was running through my head today.

  1. Romantic Movies, Love Languages, and now The Theme from Love Story. Do I sense a theme comeing on?

  1. Love the bottle and thanks again for pumping peace globes and posting a plug for my new site (like I need another one).

I used to play this song on the piano when I was a teenager until it nearly drove my parents crazy. Constantly! Now it's in my head and I can't get it out. Thanks Trav!

Maybe I should call my parents...it's a sign.

Yep, I had the same trouble with Blogger/Google yesterday morning.
I guess I need to sit down this afternoon and put up a new post as well.

I was having server error notices yesterday afternoon as well. I started using MS Word to write in when bloggers spell-check went down a while back. It's got a better dictionary anyway and now Bloggers "new and improved" spell-check highlights every contraction. Argh!

Yesterday was absolutely awful with Blogger. Every time I tried to go to a blog to leave a comment I'd get a server error or it would take forever for the comment box to open only to have it eat my comment after I left it. Obviously they must have been doing something with it but Lord knows what.

What a great idea for a message in a bottle! Loved the Andy Williams clip.

  1. Jamie: Maaaaaaaaaybe. LOL!

Mimi: But it's a good song to have in your head I say!

    Julie: Wooooooooooo!!

Drilleraa: Looks like whatever was wrong is fixed now...so far.

Bee: My cat and my CAKE!!!!

Jeff: Sometimes I'll compose in MS Word, especially for longer pieces. I'm glad I did yesterday, otherwise I would have lost all my thoughts.

Sir John: The link wouldn't work. If it's what I think it is, then I too am a fan of Jerry Lee Lewis. But to every mood it's music.

Linda: I guess we shouldn't complain too loudly about a free service, but it sure can be inconvenient when it doesn't work right.

    Akelamalu: Thanks!

Awesome idea for a message in a bottle... and I too loved the Andy Williams song.. AND I like the selection sunday ticker..I'm a HUGE college basketball fan.

    HUGE. It'll be fun.

  1. Travis, I have a friendship award for you at my blog. Come get it dear friend. :D

  1. That's a great album (TP.) It was one of the 1st CDs I ever bought. My message in a bottle was something along the lines of; "Hey people in civilization; Sucks to be you!" *LOL*

  1. I've been having trouble with google today.

  1. Unknown says:

Aw, poor kitty! Blogger does weird things once in a while. I just ignore it and come back to it later :D

  1. Shelby: The tournament should be wide open this year.

    Teach: Thanks dear!

Lana: I think I've got a bunch of my mom's old records, and there are about 6 of his.

Charles: It seemed better for me today.

Dana: He only thinks he's a poor kitty.

  1. Kimmie says:

    Hi Travis!

Your Messages In A Bottle are beautiful. The theme from "Love Story" is on my Limewire and I Love listening to that song. What year was Love Story made? Do you know? I can't remember! My 49 year old mind is getting that "Sometimer's" Disease..I can remember one thing though...very clearly. I cried for weeks after I saw that movie. Call me a hopeless romantic, I don't mind. Smiles.

  1. Kimmie: Welcome! Love Story was released in 1970. And there are days when you CAN have my cat! LOL!

My favorite of Toms is Running Down A Dream, great guitar! Hope ya had a good today & a awesome tomorrow!!

  1. Janna says:

    Happy March to you too!

    Enjoy your clingy kitty.
    He loves you. :)

  1. Janna says:

It said my primary love language was QUALITY TIME, with a secondary language being WORDS OF AFFIRMATION.

That sounds like me, all right!

And, OMG, you mentioned Double Stuf Oreos... I have a package right here next to me!
Ordinarily I'm not much of an Oreo chick, but once in awhile (like maybe once or twice a year) I get a craving to dunk them in milk. This week is one of those weeks! :)
    I got the mint ones.
    Not bad!

And I LOVE Nutter Butters too. :)

  1. Liz Hill says:

    I love Andy Williams.

I have got to do my message in a bottle before I rot away in Mimi's dungeon forever!

  1. BeckEye says:

How's this...I HATE "Free Fallin.'" I liked it the first few times I heard it, but I think it was just played so much that I grew to despise it. I was so mad when Petty played it at the Super Bowl!

  1. Roger: I don't think I have a favorite Petty tune. I like some and I don't like others.

Janna: He's clinging again while I'm reviewing comments. And Nutter Butters are great! I haven't seen them in ages though.

    Turn: Just do it!

Beck: Come to think of it, that track does get heavy rotation on classic rock stations.

  1. I'm a big Petty fan and I agree with you, that is one of his best albums ever. Not a bad track on it.

Isn't it fun, finding old stuff and putting it on the computer. I'm finding stuff I forgot I had.

  1. Grandy says:

I agree with your comment on the Petty album. It ROCKS!! Very cool bottle pic. ;)
