Shuffle off to silliness

Well, maybe it will be silly and maybe it won't.

I saw this neat little Ipod meme over at Ian's The Popcorn Principle. But before I get started, this is a good time to tell you something about our good friend Mr Ian.

Did you know he writes a really clever web comic about superheroes made out of Legos? You didn't? Well! You need to go check it out. It's called...

...and you can get there via the link in my sidebar (just scroll down a bit) or by clicking here. You can leave a comment in the Special Features section. I always forget to do this, so I now officially say to Ian...Dude, I really enjoy your web comic!

Now on we go with the cool Ipod meme.

The rules:
1. Put your music player on Shuffle
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER WHAT. (This is in capital letters, so it is very serious.)

1. IF SOMEONE SAYS “IS THIS OKAY” YOU SAY?
Follow Through (Gavin DeGraw)
Yup. If you're going to tell me about it, then get it done.

2. WHAT WOULD BEST DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY?
Volunteers (Jefferson Airplane)
I don't know about best, but I do believe that it's important to have an opinion and to act on it.

3. WHAT DO YOU LIKE IN A GUY/GIRL?
I Want To Know What Love Is (Foreigner)
We find this out from each other every day.

4. HOW DO YOU FEEL TODAY?
Nothing Left To Lose (Mat Kearney)
I'm not that desperate, but I'll be happy when this week is over and my fiscal year end inventory is done.

5. WHAT IS YOUR LIFE'S PURPOSE?
Little Bitty Pretty One (Huey Lewis & The News)
Does this mean dancing???? Cause I'm up for some dancing!

6. WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO?
Eli's Coming (Three Dog Night)
Nope. I'm not a womanizer. I was raised by women to respect women.

7. WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS THINK OF YOU?
Satisfied Man (Molly Hatchet)
Yup yup yup!

8. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR PARENTS?
Ask The Lonely (Journey)
Now my first response was "no way". But then I read the lyrics again and realized that this would apply equally to my mom and my stepdad in the years before they found each other.

9. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT VERY OFTEN?
Laughing (The Guess Who)
The first woman who broke my heart wasn't really laughing when she did it. It took me a lot of years to get over that pain. But I did it, and I was ready when love came around again and I didn't let it pass me by this time. And now we laugh together every day for the joy of what we found.

10. WHAT IS 2+2?
In Memory of Elizabeth Reed (Allman Brothers)
This doesn't make any sense.

11. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR BEST FRIEND?
Holes To Heaven (Jack Johnson)
If I interpret the lyrics to this song as a journey with a buddy who is content to take things as they come and enjoy the good times, then that's my best friend.

12. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE PERSON YOU LIKE?
Jacob's Ladder (Huey Lewis & The News)
"Well mister I'm not in a hurry...And I don't want to be like you...And all I want from tomorrow...Is to get it better than today". I guess as long as we come home to each other every day, then it's good.

13. WHAT IS YOUR LIFE STORY?
Pearl Necklace (ZZ Top)
Well, I bought my Lady pearls for our first Christmas. But I wouldn't say that's my life story. (And yes...I'm aware of the other meaning and that's not my life story either!)

14. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP?
I Don't Want To Miss A Thing (Aerosmith)
'Nuff said.

15. WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU SEE THE PERSON YOU LIKE?
Just To Feel That Way (Taylor Hicks)

16. WHAT DO YOUR PARENTS THINK OF YOU?
Don't Do It (The Band)
They want what's best for me and they don't want me to get hurt. But they would never caution me against something. They trust my judgement more than that.

17. WHAT WILL YOU DANCE TO AT YOUR WEDDING?
Surely I Love You (Huey Lewis & The News)
We don't need a wedding to dance.

18. WHAT WILL THEY PLAY AT YOUR FUNERAL?
The Long And Winding Road (The Beatles)
Appropriate.

19. WHAT IS YOUR HOBBY/INTEREST?
All Night Long (Joe Walsh)
Hehehehehehehehee

20. WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST SECRET?
I'm Just A Singer In A Rock and Roll Band (The Moody Blues)
Not really. Or maybe. Bwahahahahahahahahaha

21. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR FRIENDS?
Me and You and a Dog Named Boo (Lobo)
Yeah! It's about time for a road trip.

22. WHAT SHOULD YOU POST THIS AS?
Jump Jive and Wail (Stray Cats)
I have no idea what this means, but it's a great song anyway!

Feel free to swipe this for yourself. Happy Wednesday!

    What's an iPod? Cheers!!

  1. Only 1 Taylor song?!?!?!

    That surprises me. :)

  1. This sounds like a great meme, Travis. Maybe I'll give it a try if I have the time... Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my "socks" pic! :D

  1. Kimmie says:

Oh Travis...this was good! I particularly loved your answer to #17. Very sweet. Your lady is lucky! Her and I are both very blessed to have such loving husbands. Smiles! I only have 5 songs on my playlist, so I can't do this, but it was fun to read yours. Thanks for sharing.

So you like girls with curly Lou Gramm hair? Is that what you're saying? :)

Our musical tastes are too much alike...kind of like the cookies thing. I don't have alot of that music saved anywhere, but I always like Huey Lewis and the News, Three Dog Night, Taylor Hicks, Journey, The Guess Who, and Jefferson Airplane.

I really enjoyed this post. Have a geat day.

  1. #13 *cough* suuuuuuurrre *cough*
I may swipe this even though I don't have an mp3 player.

  1. Definitely an interesting idea. If I put my player on shuffle it would shuffle between groups like metallica, danzig, megadeth, slayer, and maybe, on the light side, Black Label society. so I'd get a lot of "death" answers to my questions.

  1. That's a lot of music... but I don't have an iPod.
If I did, I'm sure it would be full of Pet Shop Boys & Cher. Although the new Dolly Parton CD intrigues me, too!

  1. Lisa Ryan says:

fun post Travis! I'll have to give it a try.

  1. What a great meme! Seriously, though, I have so much Mellencamp and U2 on my iPod, that shuffle almost doesn't work.

  1. Ian: You are most welcome!

    Cheesy: Do!

Matt: Well, I guess you could shuffle your phonograph. LOL!

Mags: I was surprised only one scrolled up too!

Teach: It was fun. I had to fight the temptation to scroll through a tune that didn't really apply to the question.

    Kimmie: I'm a lucky guy!

    Beck: Maaaaaaaaay-be.

Drilleraa: This is a fun meme.

Starr: So exactly what is it you're saying there my dear????

    Charles: Could be interesting.

Mo: There's a time and a place for PSB, Cher, and Dolly I say!

    Lisa: It's fun!

Songbird: But you could still get quite the variety of song answers to the questions, even if it's the same two artists over and over.

  1. Unknown says:

BUWAHAHAHAHAHA! I love the answer to #15 BTW :D

  1. I am bitter cause I got no iPod :P

Even my unemployed for 10 years ex boyfriend has an iPod.

  1. RW says:

    I got my Ipod ready!

  1. Janna says:

Aww, this makes me wish I had an iPod so I could participate!!

  1. Grandy says:

I'm impressed!! Although I'm not sure of what I'm more impressed with, the appropriateness of some of those songs, or your music collection.

  1. Dana: Of course you do!

Starr: Awwwwwww. The little Nanos aren't that expensive anymore.

V: You should definitely play this! With your music catalog the answers should be excellent.

    Roger: Wooooooooooo!

Janna: What if you did a Pandora shuffle?

Grandy: I have a pretty decent catalog and it's getting even better as I work on converting my old music cassettes, albums, and 45s to iTunes.

  1. Julie says:

Woooo! This was too cool! Turned out really fun didn't it?

  1. #19 had me rolling! I did this meme in an e-mail once, and it was so much fun! If you don't mind, I think I'll steal it and do it on my blog... unless I forget (which I've been doing a lot of lately).
