Happy 100th episode! I'm sorry to report that we did not have CAKE.

Wow! There's a lot going on tonight, so let's start with some encores from Monday night's performance show.

We have enjoyed Marissa and Tony so much over the last several weeks. She has controlled her enthusiasm and has become a very capable dancer. Combine that with her Broadway experience, and you get wonderful performances that make you smile. We loved this Foxtrot.

Jason and Edyta took over the top spot from Kristi last week, and we were expecting quite a bit from them this week. They did not disappoint with this Tango. He is such an incredibly strong partner.

We could not have predicted that the dance of the night would be from Cristian and Cheryl...not after suffering a ruptured tendon in his arm. But their Mambo was outstanding!

Here's our leader board from Monday:

57 Cristian & Cheryl
55 Kristi & Mark
53 Mario & Karina
52 Jason & Edyta
50 Marissa & Tony

Now on with the festivities!

We begin with a sizzling routine from the pros, past and present. Cool! And a pan of the gallery of over 30 past celebrity performers!

Rascal Flatts is in the ballroom tonight, singing Every Day, accompanied by Apolo & Julianne. Wonderful song and beautiful dance.

Wooooooooooooooooooo!!! Vivica Fox is STILL HAWT!

Mario Lopez is back in the ballroom with the Broadway cast of A Chorus Line, in which he currently stars as director Zack. Wow! That was really good. Talk about your ultimate ringers...and he didn't win!

Rascal Flatts returns with Life Is A Highway, accompanied by Mel & Maks. Outstanding!

Whoa! Just two weeks away from crowning a new champion.

And here we go now with eliminations.

Advancing to next week's semifinals...Marissa & Tony! Joining them...Kristi & Mark!

The third couple to advance...Cristian & Cheryl! The last into the semifinal...Jason & Edyta!

And that means Mario & Karina are out.

Yikes! I just took a glance at my reader and I have 99 unread posts. But I'm in such a good mood now that I look at this as an opporunity! I get to spend the next few days catching up with y'all! YAY me!

Uhm...that wasn't too over the top, was it?

Bwahahahahahahahahahahaaaa

Let's here from Mr David Cook, who hit a double down the line on Duran Duran's Hungry Like the Wolf...

...and kocked it out of the park on Baba O'Riley, sometimes known as Teenage Wasteland from The Who.

And one final bit of business...congratulations to Kobe Bryant of the LA Lakers, who won his first NBA MVP award.

Later babies!

So much to watch last night, I had to DVR the first DWTS show - Top 10 dances....pretty cool, all my favorites where there. The results, I'm pleased with, the elimination was on the money.

Now, Mr. Cook......I didn't like the Duran Duran song....but he redeemed himself with the second one.

And it's time for JASON to GOOOOO!!
    OMG...both his songs were horrendous!

  1. I loved watching the 100th episode last night. Lots of great memories.

    I'm voting next week ;-)

I thought DC made uninspired choices.

    Jason needs to go.

Was there dancing? I couldn't get past the spray tan. WOW.

They are ALL dancing so well in the videos. But Jason may be my new fav. *sigh*

I had not heard of Rascal Flatts but the comments on that youtube clip call them the NKOTB of Country music, which I found pretty funny.

Who is DC? AH David Cook. Haven't listened to that yet. Best head back to the post.

Oh yeah - Bond's directing folk to you but he's typo'd you as travsworld.bogspot.com. I'd tell him but I'm teaching in 5 mins and have to listen to DC first.

I'm not suprised to see Mario gone. He just didn't have the fan base to compete and I thought, at times, he was not committed to the competition. On several ocasions during his sound bites, he would comment that he was going to have a very busy week because of other committments (videos, appearances, etc.) That often translated into a less than stellar performance and was ultimately his undoing.
On the other hand, Marissa may not be the best dancer, but she has decided that she is "in it to win it", and has committed herself to improving every week. Now if she can just get the wardrobe people to cooperate.

just watched the Chorus Line thing. WOW!

I wish I had loads of cash so could just hop on a plane and see a Broadway show.

  1. We don't get the dance show here, but AI comes on live! Me thinks this is one of the most exciting finalists ever!

  1. NO CAKE?
Well, having Mario Lopez kinda makes up for it, being beefcake and all....

  1. I BEGGED you NOT to mention the NBA playoffs, didn't I? Hmpf...

  1. Sandee says:

Haven't seen a one of these. All these videos sure freezes up Google reader. Yikes. Have a great day Travis. :)

  1. Ivanhoe says:

I guessed it would be Mario getting out. Now it's all about the fan base, as all dancers are really good.
I have leftover cake from yesterday - come and get a slice!

  1. Marsha: I had a bit of a problem with the sound on the first DC clip...couldn't hear the band and that affected how the song sounded to me.

Leigh: It was a good show, wasn't it?

    Turn: It's about time!

    Jennifer: LOL!

TC: Thanks for the tip about the bad link at The Couch.

Drilleraa: Yet again, we're on the same page with both Mario and Marissa.

    TC: That was cool eh?

Terra: Could be. I'm just hoping for DC to get to the top 3.

Mo: It was sad not having any CAKE for a real celebration. But we had ice cream so it was ok.

Songbird: Well, technically I didn't. I just mentioned Kobe. Heheheheheee

    Sandee: I know, but I couldn't resist.

Ivanhoe: Should be an interesting Final Four.

  1. Julie says:

Yup it sure was a busy night wasn't it? Fun fun fun!!!

  1. Trav, forgive me if I donot share your enthusism for Dancing with the statr,I prefur to see people actually wearing clothes when that dance not dress like something that you see in a less than savory neighborhood. That is whay I donot watch a certain program on PBS called Ballroom sanceing same lack of clothes.

  1. what would I do without your recaps!!

    thanks

    basketball we can agree on!

  1. I liked the Duran song and I am a long time huge Duranie and I thought Randy was a bit of a dick to him. The second number was awesome and no one should call that song Teenage Wasteland and not get pelt with veggies :P

  1. tiggerprr says:

I am afraid that Starrlight would pelt me with veggies. I had no idea what "Baba O'Reilly" was...and my tilted head said that. So my hubby says, "a lot of people know it as "Teenage Wasteland" and I immediately knew the song.

I didn't love "Hungry Like the Wolf" It was too fast for me. But, I <3 David Cook so I'll forgive. :)

  1. Akelamalu says:

Another great clutch of videos Trav - it must take you ages to find them all!

  1. Linda says:

I have always loved "A Chorus Line" and am a real sucker for a good musical (which I think this most definitely qualifies as!).

  1. Kimmie says:

    Hi Travis,
I didn't get to see any of the shows this week, so a double, wait...no triple, with whipped cream and a cherry on top "Thank You" for all the recaps. I like the remaining couples on DWTS, and also AI. Go David Cook! As far as DWTS, my two favorite's from the beginning were Jason and Chistian, so I have my fingers crossed on both hands. They are ALL so good...I will be Happy for whoever wins the trophy. They give so much joy and entertainment to so many people, bless their hearts. That is what is so special about this show.

YEAY Kobe!!!! You get my drift!
    ;-)
    Hugs,
    Kimmie

  1. Unknown says:

Ooh, Life is a Highway is my favorite song (at the moment). Wish I'd caught that.

  1. Julie: And every day gets us closer to the SYTYCD premier!

Mike: It's not like they are dancing nekkid, but I understand.

Katherine: You might have to watch! LOL!

Starr: The name of the song is a bit unexpected for those unfamiliar with The Who. It's the same with some Zep songs.

Tiggerprr: Well hello there! My problem with HLTW was that I could hardly hear the band on the youtube clip.

Akelamalu: It's not too bad, and I enjoy it.

Linda: I agree that A Chorus Line is one of the great musicals.

Kimmie: Both shows should have good final weeks.

    Dana: I thought of you!
