Welcome to another Manic Monday with Morgen. Don't forget to cruise by MM HQ at It's A Blog Eat Blog World. Today's theme is Play.

The weather finally turned this weekend into something a bit more conducive to the fun and frolics of spring, and we took full advantage of it on Saturday.

We started with a hearty breakfast of waffles, eggs, hash browns, and biscuits & gravy at the International House of Pancakes, because it's the most important meal of the day and we needed our energy.

Next, we popped across the street to check out the appliances at Sears. Then it was off to Barnes & Noble to browse through the clearance racks. And then we spent three hours in Home Depot.

Yes...I said three hours. See, we have some improvement projects we want to do but we haven't really discussed exactly what we want to do yet. So we looked at all kinds of flooring samples, and cabinetry, and paint colors, and other accessories for kitchens and bathrooms.

Then we had lunch at a place called Rock Bottom grill before we headed across the lake to Seattle. We spent a couple hours at the Experience Music Project Museum.

We finished up the day by seeing Iron Man again. It was just as enjoyable the second time around.

And that was our Saturday play day.

My Lakers played well Friday night, and hung on late to defeat Utah 4 games to 2 in their best of 7 quarter final series. Los Angeles advanced to the Western Conference finals and awaits the winner of tonight's game between San Antonio and New Orleans.

Detroit and Boston will play in the Eastern Conference final.

The two night finale of Dancing with the Stars begins tonight!

I love the picture of the leaping kitty.
Frolicking is good, freedom is good, and it's especially nice to have a big wide open field all to yourself.

    Three hours at Home Depot???

  1. The sun certainly brings out the spirit of play, that's for sure.

I totally get three hours at Home Depot--although for me it's Lowe's. Shoot with the new house i'm practically going to be living in Lowe's.

So glad you got a play day;-)

Sounds like a great time Travis. Cheers to ya both. Cheers!!

  1. The SF Museum looks like a wonderful outing. You picture reminds me of a lyric about the longing for childhood:

    Kitten be found again
    I'll chase you round again
    Free and unbound again
    Just for today.

Bwhahaahahaha! All "J's" in Mister Linky so far!

Now Travis! This museum looks so exciting! What hands on things did you and Pam do. Huh? That's not what I meant! Did the you the "pretend to jam on a guitar with hoards of screaming fans."? That sounds fun!

    Happy MM dear!

Spending three hours at Home Depot may have seemed like play at the time, but it sounds like it's going to lead to a lot of work in the future.
    Have a great week!

    Looking forward to DWTS tonight.

Teach: I love to go to museums! But we didn't have any hot dogs dangit!

Drilleraa: Well, since I'm not all that handy, I think it'll end up costing me more money than time.

    CWM: It was!

    Starr: You'll really enjoy it!

Akelamalu: Actually, we had a great time picking out colors and textures and fixtures oh my!
