Western Conference Champs!

The Lakers closed out the defending champs behind a strong defensive performance, energized play off the bench, and a determined Kobe Bryant to advance to the franchise's 29th appearance in the NBA Finals.



The Lakers were quicker, stronger, and fresher than the Spurs. I really thought the series would go 7 games, but LA has proven that they can defend their home floor and steal a game or two on the road. That's going to be important, because both Boston and Detroit finished with better records and whichever of them emerges will have home court advantage in the Finals.

So if my guys are going to be NBA Champs, they'll have to win at least once on the road to get it done.

But, Kobe and D-Fish have a week to show this young team how to prepare to steal one of the first two games on the road.



I'm looking forward to seeing if they can keep this run going. They've dethroned the champs. Now let's bring on the next challenge!

    I suppose I should congratulate the Lakers but I'm a very big un-fan of Kobie Bryant. I haven't cared much about basketball since the days of Michael Jordan and the Bulls rule.

    Charles: I understand. Lots of people think the NBA began and ended with MJ. But I do back to the late 70's and the 80's. Jordan's era began the time when I didn't care much for the NBA.

    V: Well, Detroit may take care of that before the Lakers get a chance.

    I have never liked Kobe Bryant.but that again I cannot respect any one who cheat on their family.The next thing is these pigs that knoch up women and not marry then.DO you Hear me "KING" James and David Letterman.to name a few.But I digress.

    Mike: Keep in mind that some of the women specifically target athletes for the purpose of getting themselves pregnant. The athlete isn't blameless or innocent, but he's not always the only guilty party.
