I was just a kid when most of these were recorded, but I just loved this music. I grew up with American Bandstand. Thank you for reminding me just how much fun music used to be.

They just don't write 'em like that anymore, more's the pity!

    I love that!

I used to listen to those songs all the time growing up.

  1. Drilleraa: I grew up listening to this because it was my mom's music, and I grew to love it as much as she did.

    Lois: Yup...it's toe tappin' stuff!

Mo: Makes me want to go to a car show!

Charles: At least you could understand them.

  1. Trav, Thank you for making me feel young again, being born in 1952 by the time I was8 I was really enjoying listening to these songs. even if my Dad called it noise.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I just might have yo go on a Doo Wop posting rampage on my blogger site.

I saw where you liked Taylor Hicks on your info page-
I was a HUGE fan of his- However, my husband and I went to see him at a local casino a few months back- and I was not impressed at all-
He acted like he was just ready to get thru the show- and really didn't put any effort into the show- It was a huge disappointment!

I'm picturing you doo-wopping and I have to smile. Awesome, Trav! Hehehehe

  1. Trav, I have a tag for you - it's about songs you're into at the moment. You don't have to do it if you don't want to.

Smiles abound! Very heartwarming post for an oldie like me!

  1. Dana: Just give us some of that old time rock and roll!

    Shelby: YAY!

Mike: I think the next older generation has been calling the younger generation's music noise ever since the invention of the phonograph.

CWM: I could maybe make this a feature. There's so much good stuff out there.

    Mike: Cool!

    Mimi: Wooooo and Hoooo!

Drama Mama: I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I've never heard of him giving anything less than 100% or being anything other than gracious.

    Roger: Thanks!

    Terra: It was pretty good.

Teach: Let's dance! I'll check out the tag!

    Chuck: We were silly!

    Jeni: You're not an oldie...you're a goodie!
