Twitch on Tuesday

How talented is this young man?



So the first winner of So You Think You Can Dance was Nick Lazzarini, a trained contemporary jazz dancer. The winner of season 2 was Benji Scwimmer, a west coast swing champion. Sabra Johnson, another contemporary dancer, won season 3.

Can a hip hop dancer win this show?

There are three hip hop/break dancers in the Top 10...Twitch, Joshua, and Gev. I don't know about y'all, but my favorite dances from each of these guys are not the hip hop routines they've done.

So yeah, I think a hip hop dancer can win this show.

But whoever does ultimately win, fans of dance are in for a great ride to the finale next month.

    You know, now that you mention it, I always love whoever is preforming the routines by Mia and Napoleon & Tabitha...no matter what their 'specialties' are, these routines are always preformed well by the dancers.

    He was awesome! Do you think it is harder to judge the Hip Hop because it doesn't follow a SPECIFIC form or technique? It is very easy to say someone is a talented Ballet Dancer, or Ballroom Dancer because of the Body placement, alignment, turn out, etc. No doubt that he is TALENTED and I wish him the best!

    I think it could happen this season with Twitch or Joshua taking the title...though there as some great women also...

    I don't think comfort will last past this week, even with the second chance and it is a shame Jessica had to bow out.

    Twitch is a dancer, and an excellent one at that.

    Bee: Aren't they fun to watch?

    Marsha: I rank the SYTYCD choreographers: 1 Wade Robson, 2 Mia Michaels, 3 Tyce Diorio, 4 Alex de Silva, 5 Tabitha & Napoleon. And I agree that they can usually bring out the absolute best in the dancer regardless of specialty.

    Roger: I learn something new every time I watch.

    Jennifer: I think you're exactly right about judging hip hop. There are some technical things to watch...a buddy of mine from work is a hip hop teacher, and he tells me what to look for technically. But it's tough to spot it.

    V: As I said earlier in email, I think it could come down to partners for Comfort. I think her best pairing will be with Gev.

    Lois: Bwahahahahahaa! Now that's funny...a green bean!

    Ann: You said it best. Dancers dance, no matter what the style or steps.

    Sandee: I'm not usually a hip hop fan either, but he brings me to the style because of his talent and personality.

    I do think he has a shot at winning. I enjoyed re-watching the first video at top again from the show the night. You're right. The second video no longer works.
    Twitch is a "serious" dancer.

    He is simply amazing! I do like Joshua too, though...maybe a tad bit more. The routine that he and his partner did the first week really captured my attention. I ♥ this show.

    Oh, I think Twitch can definitely win! He's great!
    I agree with Marsha. I love Mia and Napoleon & Tabitha's routines. If anyone can dance to them, they have oodles of talent!
    Great group this season!
