Ruby Tuesday

Welcome to my debut post for Ruby Tuesday, a weekly photo meme hosted by Mary the Teach at Work of the Poet.

Basically what you do is take a photo of something red and post it on Tuesday. And you can click here to sign Mr Linky and to view some of the other excellent entries.

I may not do this every week, but I happened to glance over and see something that reminded me of a project I've left unattended.

I bought these little goodies not long ago.

Why, you ask?

Well I'll tell you.

I have this disaster in my display cabinet with my Lord of the Rings figures. For some reason they just don't want to stand up. Maybe Aragorn is just too intimidating or something.

See that? It's just disgraceful.

So I got these adhesive thingies so I could make little foot stands and resolve the chaos. Now I just need to get myself together and fix my figures.

Sometimes I can't believe how lazy I am.

But at least it's good for my debut on Ruby Tuesday! That's something.

Happy Tuesday!

  1. LOL! That's adorable!

I loved Aragorn! Not so much in plastic though.

I have an equally geeky (actually probably much more geeky) fella here with a whole shelf of star wars toys... sorry figures.

    Now get to work!

  1. Akelamalu says:

    Get sticking Trav! :)

  1. DrillerAA says:

    Great post.
    Have a great Ruby Tuesday.

  1. Schmoop says:

Cute, but I was hoping to hear about some kinky kind of use that you got out of them. Cheers Travis!!

  1. Barb says:

I ♥ LotR, too! Tolkien is one of my favorites! I must say, I don't have any of the action figures, though! hahaha!

    Perfect fix!

  1. RW says:

Good Ruby Tuesday to ya Trav!

  1. So cute!
By the way, he does look a bit intimidating :)

  1. Ivanhoe says:

It's peculiar that only Aragon is still standing :o) Now go fix them all up, o.k.?
BTW: Loved the books and the movies.

  1. Leora says:

Welcome to Ruby Tuesday. My son does a great Gollum imitation. But no figurines, we just read the books and watch the movies.

  1. I'm not participating this week, but I like your contribution. *grin*

  1. Love Aragon's cape. Pretty funny about the other figurines not standing up.

    nice reds.

  1. Linda says:

I think it's just that the other figures are bowing down before Aragorn and that's the problem!

Great take on the meme, though! Ruby Tuesday has definitely taken off but I don't participate as I currently just don't have the time to do reciprocal blog visiting for everyone who does a post. It's one of the reasons I stopped doing Wordless Wednesday and Saturday PhotoHunt - I feel guilty if I don't visit other blogs! Perhaps I need to see a therapist for that?

Anyway, enough of my babbling - get sticking and then show us the results!

  1. so when it is no longer a disaster you'll have to post more pics...smile

  1. Carletta says:

Ah, LOTR's - so you could say little adhesive thingies for foot stands to "bind them all" - can you tell I'm a fan as well. :)
Glad the package was red - to bring us all. (couldn't resist)

  1. Oh Travis, I thought at the bottom of the post you'd have the figurines all posing in a neat manner... oh well, maybe next week! Great premier Ruby Tuesday post! Welcome! :)

  1. Raven says:

Very funny. I certainly hope that stability can be restored to your display and that all the others can "stand up" to Aragon.

  1. Dianne says:

all those female figurines are swooning I suppose ;)

I have so many projects like that started - notice I said started and then - well life interrupts.

    welcome to ruby tuesday!

  1. I had troubles with bloggger last night and because I did not fall asleep until 1 AM, I kept trying and finally got it to work...

    Now...get to those figurines mister

  1. Terra: Awww shucks.

TC: One should be proud of one's toys...and I need to show my pride by fixing them!

    Akelamalu: Yes Ma'am!

    Drilleraa: Thanks!

Matt: A gentleman never discusses any kink in public!

WT4W: I missed a bunch from the first film and really had to scramble to get the whole Fellowship. But I managed it!

Lois: Now I just have to make it work!

    Roger: And to you Sir!

Bitter Betty: Well, he is the King!

Ivanhoe: He cheats a bit by leaning on that cape.

Leora: I guess you kind of have to be into action figures to collect like I did.

  1. Songbird: Thanks!

    Sarge: Or the sticky stuff.

Charles: They really are quite well done figures.

    Tommy V: Thanks!

Linda: Now I never thought of it that way. And I now what you mean about trying to visit as many participants as possible. It's tough to do.

    Katherine: I better get started.

    Carletta: Nice analogy!

    Teach: I know...a bit disappointing.

Raven: One day they shall all stand tall and proud.

Dianne: If I wrote out all my projects, it would be a whole new project!

V: I finally got it squared away, right around 10pm PDT I think.

  1. You are such a guy.

I have something for you at the castle...E Is For Excellent ~My Report Card Runneth Over

  1. Too often those plastic figurines aren't balanced correctly. Freaking cheaply made, overpriced merchandise! I hope the stickies help. :)

  1. j says:

So your coolness factor just jumped several levels with that post. LOVE the Lord of the Rings. We have marathons where we spend the weekend watching it.

We use Lord of the rings to gauge how scary something is for our son. We tell him things aren't as scary looking as Lord of the Rings and he is ok with it.

    Take care.

    Jen

  1. Mimi: Hehehe. Thank you dear!

Lana: I think the stickies are going to work. And even though these ones have wonky balance, they have such intricate details.

Jennifer: I love it when I can increase my coolness factor.

    Very cool!

  1. Kimmie says:

Another man who has toys. My son has glass cabinets filled with all different types of figurines. Each one has its own theme. He's 30. LOL. The man will always be a boy at heart, just like you. Now, my husband, he has a huge manly curio filled with Hotwheels, mostly "57 Chevys. It is so darn cool looking. My friends think I'm nuts to have hot wheels in my living room. I disagree...I think its about time men were allowed to display their own knick knacks also. With taste of course. ;-)
Rock On Travis and get stickin'!

    Hugs,
    Kimmie

  1. Julie says:

Hmmmm you need to fix your figures? Well I only have ONE to fix!

    Bwhahahhaha! i crack me up!
