Congratulations to the Mill Creek WA All Stars, from just a short ways north of Seattle and representing the northwest in the Little League World Series. The boys made it to the US semifinal last night, but lost to the kids from Hawaii.

Good job boys!

Man my heart breaks for the kids that are knocked out of competition. You can just see the let down they feel, but none the less congrats to them for making it so far. What a thrill for them to be in the hunt.

  1. Cool. I remember when My son played little league. I loved to watch him.

They look downright proud of their accomplishments and rightly so! Yay to them and yay to your for giving yays to them!

    Just yay in general!

  1. Isn't it cool...When Tom's River was in the finals, Matt went to Williamsport with his buddy and their moms...

And our little league softball program got one game away from going to the W.S. in Oregon in 2005

TMI moment... these things always make me cry when I see them on TV because I KNOW how big this is in the lives of these kids. Something that they will tell their grandkids about.

UNLESS.. they go on to do such great things in sports that it was just a drop in the bucket. And that is cool too.

  1. Jay: Double yay for the bomb thing.

Lois: The finals are this weekend.

    Teach: Thanks!

    Akelamalu: It's baseball!

Jeff: I know. I get choked up too.

Charles: Some say it's wrong to put so many of the games on ESPN, but I love to watch.

Linda: I'll toss in another YAY!

V: It's way cool. I want to plan a trip to see the games one of these years.

Jennifer: They choke me up too.

    TC: Wooooooo!

    Wow, that's awesome! :)

    Congrats to the team.

  1. I love Little League too. They look like some happy younguns....(that's southern for children)

  1. Yay for little league, indeed. At least they're playing for fun & the love of the game, instead of being a bunch of overpaid, whiny bitches. Er...sorry. Personally I don't have much use for pro sports.

    Good going, boys!

  1. Akelamalu says:

Ah basesball, I knew it was sport! ;)

  1. Cheesy says:

Good luck to the kiddos and a big ^5!!!

  1. CWM: They did great!

Mimi: I stand corrected...I always thought it was spelled "youngins".

Lana: You mostly hear about the whiners. While it is about the money, I think plenty of pros still play for love of the game.

    Akelamalu: It's great sport!

Cheesy: I'm looking forward to watching the championships this weekend. It's been tough to balance those games with the Olympics.

Great Job to the Little Leaguers! Winning is the best, but losing builds character. Experiencing both emotions are an important part of the development of children. They sure do look happy in that photo! :-)

    Hugs,
