Welcome to another Manic Monday with Morgen. Don't forget to cruise by MM HQ at It's A Blog Eat Blog World. Today's theme is Juice.
Juice Newton is a five time Grammy nominated pop and country music artist who had 4 chart topping country singles in the 1980s.
Ms Newton released Queen of Hearts in 1981. It reached #2 on the US Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts. The song was written by Hank DeVito and originally released by Dave Edmunds in 1979 on the album Repeat When necessary.
Angel of the Morning was written by Chip Taylor and originally recorded by Evie Sands in 1967. Cameo-Parkway Records went bankrupt and the song was later recorded and released by Merrilee Rush and The Turnabouts in 1968. The song has been recorded several other times. It reached #1 on the Adult Contemporary charts for Ms Newton in 1981, and also went to #4 on the Hot 100 and #22 on the Country chart.
OK, back to studies for me.
I've never heard of this one, but coming from the UK, we don't get many Country and Western songs over here. Tammy Wynette and Dolly Parton are about it, I'm afraid. Although I've several compilation CDs of C & W which I do enjoy.
