Rams vs Seahawks

QB Matt Hasselbeck is off to a hot start with his cobbled together corps of receivers, who look like All Pros against the Rams secondary. Hasselbeck started the drive 3 of 3 for 43 yards before throwing incomplete to TE John Carlson in the endzone. Then the drive stalls and the Seahawks settle for a field goal.
The Giants are forced to punt on their first possession of OT. The Bengals get nothing in their first possession and punt as well.
Rats. Well, I ended up getting the pick right. But even though my Raiders were competitive today, they let Buffalo get back in the game late. The Bills scored 10 points in the last 6 minutes of the game, winning on a late field goal as time expired. Dangit.
The Seahawks get pressure on Rams QB Mark Bulger. It's a sack and a forced fumble, and Seattle recovers at the 25 yard line and the Seahawks are in business again.
But Seattle is unable to get a 1st down. They go for it on 4th and 1, and RB TJ Duckett pounds off tackle for the first down. Then Hasselbeck throws 10 yards to WR Michael Bumpus for the TD. The Seahawks lead 10-0.
The Giants take the second possession of OT and march 62 yards in 7 plays, hi-lighted by a 31 yard completion from Manning to Amani Toomer. The 22 yard field goal is good and the Giants win 26-23.
Pam understands that the Rams just aren't very good, but she's definitely enjoying watching her Seahawks look like Super Bowl contenders today. RB Julius Jones just bounced to the outside for 29 yards and a TD. He was initially stuffed on the inside, but he keeps his balance and then Hasselbeck runs downfield to throw a block on the play.
Oh...sorry. I've been forgetting the interludes, as Anndi pointed out in comments on an earlier post. Pam says this might help with that.
As much as I detest the Rams, I'm embarrassed for them. This is a bad football team.
Ooops. Seattle mishandles a punt and the Rams recover just outside the Seahawks 25 yard line. But the Rams have 2 running plays for losses and an incomplete pass in the endzone, then settle for a field goal to cut the lead to 17-3.
There's such a huge difference in the kind of 0-2 teams we're watching today. The Rams 0-2 is the record of a dismal football team and an organization that has lost its way.
On the other side, the Seahawks are 0-2 mainly because of injuries. No team likes to make excuses, but when you lose 6 wide receivers and a running back to injury, it's going to take some time to get organized with new guys. The defense has also been exposed. But, Seattle's 0-2 has more optimism tied to it.
But the Seahawks need to get every "easy" win they can, because the schedule over the next few weeks is tough...after the bye next week, Seattle goes to the Giants followed by Green Bay at home, then at Tampa Bay, at San Francisco, and Philadelphia at home.
Yikes.
So the Seahawks get a late field goal to lead the Rams 27-6 at halftime. Even Pam is bored.
Later.
Oh, I loves me the eye candy! Yummo! Thanks Trav. And the KFC looks really good also! ;-)
