Phillies 3, Dodgers 2

Ooops.
We cannot have errors.
My Dodgers got off to a good start with back to back doubles in the top of the 1st to take a 1-0 lead over Philly. Then a sacrifice fly in the top of the 4th got us another run. Derek Lowe was pitching well.
Then in the bottom of the sixth, a throwing error on a routine ground ball got the Phillies a base runner. Chase Utley hit a home run to tie the game. And then Pat Burrell hit a home run to give the Phillies the 3-2 lead.
Dangit.
I guess I'll know early if the Dodgers can steal one and head back to LA tied at one game a piece. Today's game is at 1:35pm in Philadelphia.
Studies are going well. Thanks again for asking. I've been trying to get a little ahead the last couple of days because I have to go out of town on business next week.
Oh hey! I got some great feedback from the president of my company today. He recognized some work I've been doing over the past couple of months. We're integrating some logistics and inventory functions with our parent company, and I've been working on processes and providing data analysis for the project. That kind of stuff ties in with my supply chain management studies.
I've really enjoyed the work too. It's strategic stuff, looking at systems and processes to identify best practices. The two systems are divergent and our products are both entertainment-based but from dissimilar markets, so both sides need to understand and accept the compromises they'll have to make. Communication has been a problem, so my job is to clarify processes and help everyone understand the importance of cooperation during a period of intense change.
Basically, I took ownership for trying to integrate the inventory we manage with a fully integrating inventory and accounting system into a 30 year old mainframe database system that our parent company is slowly attempting to upgrade.
And the president of my company called me a star for the progress I've made with that. YAY me!
As I told you, this is incredible news especially with your trip next week.
I have my fingers crossed for you and for the Dodgers...
As someone said last night on ESPN "This team has Torre, before they take the field on Friday he will make sure the whole team knows this is a long series and Thursday's game is history."
