It's not what you think.

I heard the new single from Taylor Hicks last night. It's called What's Right Is Right. It's due to drop on 27 Jan. And I like it!

The new CD, The Distance, is due March 10. It was produced by Simon Climie, who has worked with Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, and Faith Hill. The album features appearances from guitarist Doyle Bramhall II, bassist Nathan East, and drummer Abe Laboriel Jr.

    Hi Travis!

    I will have to go to You Tube and see if it is listed. I would love to hear this song. :-) Thanks for the heads up my friend!

    Hugs,

    Although I confess I rarely buy cds and such, I'll have to look into this. It sounds very interesting. Or at least I'll tell my daughter and son about it as they -especially my son -like to buy CDs.

    Hey, I like Taylor Hicks as well! I'll have to go over to YouTube.

  1. Hum, sounds a little like White zombie? Megadeth? Or is he retro like old Black Sabbath?

  1. I like it. I'm very interested in his new cd. While I liked his last one I thought it was not what it could have been and hoping this one will reach his potential.

  1. I have also heard it and like it very much.

    Looking forward to hearing the whole thing.

    His new album is out in March and it should be a keeper.

  1. I've never listened to him outside of one TV commercial or other. I'll have to give him a shot.

  1. Kimmie: I didn't find it on youtube, but maybe it'll be there.

    Marsha: I can't wait!

    Jeni: Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway. Whatever music he's selling, I'm buying.

    Julie: Well, I had help this time.

    Ann: Sorry! I meant to give you credit for sending it to me.

    Kanani: If it's not there, try his My Space.

    Charles: LOL! He's not quite your speed.

    John: I really enjoyed the last one. I liked the changes he made to his original material, and I love The Right Place.

    V: Me too!

    Akelamalu: He's very easy to listen to.

    Laughingwolf: Glad you like it.

    WT4W: Yeppers! That's why we are the Soul Patrol!

    Thank you for the link--I like the chorus--it's got a big hook and he does it very well. I'm being honest and saying I'm very meh about the song as a whole though. I'm glad there's new stuff and I cannot wait to hear the rest of it.

  1. Coco says:

    I have to be honest - I liked the music and the sound very much, but I didn't think very highly of the lyric - kinda immature and not what I would've expected from a seasoned singer-songwriter. That's just my first impression, though. I'm glad he's got something else coming out. It's been too long.

  1. Ivanhoe says:

    Love it! Thanks for the tip. I think I'll get his new album. I enjoyed him on Idol :o)

    I like the picture that accompanies this post. Silver haired Alabama boys are so very nice.

    ugh - don't I sound smarmy. I'm going to kiss my husband good night now...

  1. Great! I'll go check it out. I really like his voice.
    I just saw your Monday Office photos. Travis, will you stop rubbing it in???
    Seriously, you are one lucky fella.
    ~~~Blessings~~~
  1. CWM: Absolutely!
    Turn: I think we're all really expecting him to kick it up a notch since he's got control now.
    Coco: Hmmmm. I didn't get that feeling from the lyrics. But to each our own opinion, right?
    Ivanhoe: He's still my favorite, followed by David Cook.
    Jennifer: That picture came from one of the shows on the first solo tour. I swiped it from a fellow Soul Patroller.
    Gracie: Hehehehee! Never!
    Mimi: You're not trying to lure me over so you can toss me in the dungeon are you?
