Congratulations to the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers beat Arizona 27-23 in a fantastic finish that saw the lead change hands twice in the final minutes.

Cardinals QB Kurt Warner brought Arizona back from a 13 point deficit, including throwing the go ahead score to WR Larry Fitzgerald. But Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger drove Pittsburgh right back down the field and hit WR Santonio Holmes for the toe-tapping game winning TD with just 35 seconds to play.
The Steelers become the first franchise to win six Super Bowls.
Holmes was named the MVP. He finished the game with 9 catches for 131 yards and the game winning score. He had 4 catches on the final drive.

So were there any memorable commercials this year? There were a few for me.
Mr Potato Head for Bridgestone made me laugh out loud. Bridgestone did a pretty good job with all of their commercials.
The magic Doritos crunch was pretty good.
Budweiser clydesdales are always excellent.
Etrade added another baby, but it didn't have the same impact as last year.
OK...I'm not a big Springsteen fan, but all I can say about the halftime show is...
BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE!
THAT TOTALLY ROCKED!

I was a tad late switching the channel over to the game so by the time I tuned in the Black and Gold had scored a field goal. I thought I was paying close attention early on but somehow I totally missed the Steelers first touchdown. How the hell did that happen?
Then, during the 2nd quarter and half-time, I had to take a break to get supper ready, on the table and eat. But after supper, I settled back in to watch and boy, was I ever glad that I did that too! I saw Arizona start their climb but initially, I wasn't all that worried -after all 20 to 14 while not a totally safe margin was still sort of ok. Then came that damned safety -which somehow I missed seeing that too. Boy, was I asleep at the wheel or something? But Fitzgerald's score that took the Cardinals out in front, now that got my attention big time. Two minutes -well just under that really -to go and Big Ben really kicked in and watching Holmes catch in the end zone, waiting for the official verdict if that TD would count, I was on pins and needles. WHen it was announced that it would hold, I let out a shout for my daughter who was trying to fold laundry in between watching bits and pieces of the game. She thought that it was in the bag for sure then for Pittsburgh but I reminded her how we got a hell of a shock about two years back with the Penn State and Michigan game which Penn State lost in the very last seconds of the game.
I didn't watch last year's game cause I really wasn't all that interested in either New England or the Giants but man, I am really glad I did try to watch the game this year as I felt it was really what a championship game should be. I say that not just because the Steelers won but rather because of the back and forth, the rough and tumble of the game -or of the parts I did see anyway. Six super bowls to one team! Not bad, not bad at all, I'd say.
That "Terrible Towel" must really work miracles, huh?
Go Steelers! Job well done. But I can't forget to say a good word for the Cardinals either as if they hadn't played a well-fought game, it would have been a very boring evening so thanks to them too, also for a job well done!
