Welcome to another Manic Monday with Morgen. Don't forget to cruise by MM HQ at the Manic Monday blog. Today's theme is Party.

Well, the dance card is full for the March Madness party! And I'm all set with Thursday and Friday off work so I can watch the first two rounds of the tournament this weekend.

The four #1 seeds are Louisville, Pittsburgh, North Carolina, and Connecticut.

I've got my eye on Duke, of course. I've been a Blue Devil fan for a lot of years. I don't think this year's team is of Final Four qualilty, but I like the potential path to the regional final out of the East bracket.

I've also got my eye on...

Washington, #4 seed out of the West bracket
Oklahoma, #2 seed out of the South bracket
Gonzaga, #4 seed out of the South bracket
Butler, #9 seed out of the South bracket

I don't have a pick to win it all yet. I do have a couple of upsets picked out already. As soon as the pairings were announced, I said watch for #12 Western Kentucky to pick off #5 Illinois and #11 VCU to beat #6 UCLA.

So there we are. The field is set. The pieces will be in motion beginning Thursday.

Happy March Madness!

The party resumes from the ballroom this evening as our 13 couples dance once more for scores. Last week's scores are added to this week's and combined with vote totals to determine which two couples will dance to remain in the competition, and which will be the first eliminated pair.

Dances this week are Salsa and Quickstep. I'll have my recap post tomorrow, with encores and results to follow on Wednesday.

Happy Dancing!

Can't wait for the tourney to start. Should be a great one!! And go Melissa. Show that bachelor what a real winner is :)

  1. I give March Madness a passing glance and root for Duke, Gonzaga, and UCLA on general principals. About the dancing. Can these women wear less and still get on television before 10 PM?

I told you I'd get hooked on DWTS if I started watching. Daaaaaammit. I was proud of myself for onlyhaving one thing I watch relgiously, Breaking Bad. Quite a contrast there, eh?

  1. My Dawgs got a crummy seeding, as they did last year. I don't look for them to get past the Tar Heels in round 2, but I can dream.

Sounds like you are going to be glued to the TV set for most of this week - or at least the very end of the week, that's for certain!

Have a happy St. Patty's Day tomorrow and may the luck of the Irish be with ya!

  1. Julie: That'll do it this week!

    Charles: It is.

Thom: These are my favorite 3 weeks of the year!

Jamie: Well, I guess you could say they wear as much...or as little...as your average track athlete.

Hope: HA! It's addictive, isn't it?

Songbird: They aren't the same team as last year, but anything can happen and that's why they play the games.

    Lois: Good luck!

Mary: Thanks! I'll be sure to cruise by.

Southern: I won't. They are set up pretty well.

    Akelamalu: I am!

    Cherie: Credit goes to Mo!

V: Well, Memphis isn't my team. But I do wish them good luck!

WT4W: Especially when it's done well!

Mags: I know you would! The UConn women are favored to win.

    Linda: All week is right!
