Yes my friends, we can have encores without results

Yup. Even though there are no results from last night, we can still have encores.

I'm trying something a bit different this time, because so often the clips get pulled for copyright. Even though I always promise that I'm not posting them for any monetary gain, and only because I LOVE dancing, the clips still get pulled.

So, I shall give you a picture of the pair who has earned encore honors and provide a link to the clip. Sound ok?

Here we go then!

First up is the unexpectedly fantastic Gilles Marini with partner Cheryl Burke. Despite a wonky music selection, their Cha Cha Cha was sexy and cheeky and outstanding. Click here.

Next we have the youngest ever competitor in 17 year old Shawn Johnson with partner Mark Ballas. They captured the fairy tale that a Waltz should be, despite a few minor criticisms from the judges. Click here.

Finally, we have the surprising Melissa Rycroft with partner Tony Dovolani. She had 48 hours to learn the Waltz, and she did a fantastic job. It was romantic and lovely. Click here.

I hope this encore format works for everyone.

As to my other harmless obsession, congratulations to these teams who have had their tickets punched to the Big Dance:

Cornell from the Ivy League
East Tennessee State from the Atlantic Sun
Radford from the Big South
Moorehead State from the Ohio Valley
Northern Iowa from the Missouri Valley
Chattanooga from the Southern Conference
Virginia Commonwealth from the Colonial Athletic
Gonzaga from the West Coast Conference
North Dakota State from the Summit
Cleveland State from the Horizon League
Sienna from the MAAC
Western Kentucky from the Sun Belt

12 in, 52 to go!

I'm behind with rounds, so I'll catch up with everyone in the next few days.

I'm thinking that gymnast chick is going to sew it up if she can appear mature enough...

  1. I'm torn between East Tn and Gonzaga.

(I don't vote on DWTS cause I don't want to take the chance I will become obsessed with it...I don't want it to become personal. Not that everyone who votes is...I just know myself and my foibles...)

  1. TopChamp says:

The young one looks really young. That's good.

  1. Akelamalu says:

Never mind pulling the clips they should be paying you for promoting the programme! :0

    GO Hilltoppers (WKU)!

  1. Ivanhoe says:

Wooo Hoooo to my Cleveland State Vikings! (did not happen since like 1978 I think)
Sorry for the Butler upset though :o(

  1. Bond says:

My cousin is creating sparks all over... LOL

HEY, I am taking advantage of it while I can

Planning on getting my brackets filled out real soon...having the same group this year...will send you info

A very impressive group there! And I agree with the copywrite commentary. They should be paying you! Free promotion for their show. They should be honored!

  1. Travis says:

Hope: Quite possibly, although Mr Marini is going to be a contender as well.

Katherine: I lean more toward the Zags, although I do like to see all the mid-major (I hate that term) schools do well.

TC: She's young, but she's also an Olympic champ.

Akelamalu: Well thank you for the vote of confidence!

Lois: You know, I often root for WKU when they make the tournament.

Ivanhoe: I saw some of the game. It was a great win for Cleveland State.

V: Own your own I say! LOL!

Cherie: I've thought of doing the blog on the DWTS site, but then it's too much pressure. I just enjoy sharing my thoughts.
