Oddly enough, I don't think I've ever done this meme. But I saw it again at Unfinished Business not too long ago, so I grabbed it.

BBC believes the majority of people will have only read 6 of the 100 books here.

1) Look at the list and put an ‘X’ after those you have read.
2) Tally your total at the bottom.
3) Tag a few people you think would enjoy sharing similar information about their book interests.


I'm not going to tag anyone, but feel free to tell me in comments how many of these you've read.

That's 32 X's. This is obviously not the extent of the books I've read, since I've got more than 1000 in my library and I'm constantly adding to the collection.

Although I did make note of a couple on the list that I haven't read, but would like to.

What am I reading now, you ask? Well, the death of Philip Jose Farmer in February reminded me that I've never read the Riverworld series, although I always meant to. So I ordered the first three books from Amazon and I've just begun To Your Scattered Bodies Go.



And there's this one on deck. Pam is reading it while I'm reading Riverworld. I think I'll take a look as well at some point.



Plus, we'll be down at the bookstore this weekend to pick up the new novel in Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden series!

    I have seen this a bunch and need to do it. I have quite a lot on the list. I will admit that I have tried about five times to read Ulysses--still a no go;-)

    Current read is The Given Day by Dennis Lehane--it's wonderful.

    I've read more than six of these, but most were required reading in high school or college. Other than the Bible, I don't read much anymore.
    I was just never one to sit down and pick up a novel to read.

    Ok, so I've read 13 of these and have a couple of others in the library 'to read'. There's some there I need to add too,

    I did the Meyer series last year, Pam will enjoy it. I liked the books so much, I just can't bring myself to watch the movie. As always, books are better than the movie version.

    Well.....i think i've read about 12 of these. But several were from school days. So that means I probably wasn't really paying attention. I noticed a couple on this list that I've seen in Sara's room so I won't have to go to the bookstore! Just go to Sara's room!

    I have mine up now with 65 read. About Ulysses, as I say there, "set your brain on float". The poetry and sounds of the words start to seep in. You may never "understand" it, but you will be glad you sort of read it.

    Travis, I did this meme a while ago and have read a lot of them. The Modern Library has "a 100 best novels" list too. Here's the linkI'm just starting "Unaccustomed Earth" by Jhumpa Lahiri (she wrote The Namesake)I like SciFi too. Have you read "Lucifer's Hammer" Best sci fi!

    Just counting in my head as I scrolled down, I've read at least 20 of these but there are quite a few more that I want to read at some point.

    Give "Twilight" a go - it's not really a guy's book but you being a romantic, I think you'd like it. Just don't expect great writing - it's a great story but the author is not the best in the world - she just got really lucky!

    Jamie: 65! Wow! I get tired after awhile reading at Ulysses and give up. Sadly, it's unlikely I'll give it another go.

    I'll have to give it a try. I don't know if I'll have read much more than your count if that, I think I'm more of a genre reader.

    How's the Farmer book going?

    And yea for a new Harry Dresden book.

    I've actually been going back and re reading a mystery series by John Straley.

    You've got a lot of it checked off - I've only got 16 of them, most of them children's literature. I definitely read more when I was a kid. These days I'm too busy trying to write words than read them! ;-)

    OOOH Some AWESOME books on that. I have read 79 of them. I HIGHLY recommend 26, 56, 62, 64, 79, 84, 91. And Travis....you MUST MUST MUST read Pride and Prejudice. You know me, would I put Elizabeth and Darcy ahead of Rhett and Scarlett if they were not sublime?
