What's better than watching dancing?

Nothing!

What?

OK, there are a few things I like as well as watching dancing. You know I like football and college basketball and the Lakers and the Dodgers. You know I like war movies and westerns.

And then there's car shows and blogging and CAKE and TACOs.

And of course I love my Lady and my kitty. And of course the Marines.

I'll bet I could list a bunch more things as well.

But Tuesday isn't a dancing night. So what to do?

I know! Pick some stuff off the list!

So last night we had some TACOs for dinner and some CAKE for dessert. Then we snuggled on the sofa and watched Chisum. It's not one of the best of John Wayne's westerns, but it's got Duke and Ben Johnson in it and sometimes that's just good enough. The great scenery and action trumps the historical inaccuracies of the story, which is very loosely based on characters from the Lincoln County wars that involved Billy the Kid.

Sure we could have picked a better one from the DVD shelf, but I haven't seen this one in awhile and it's one Pam really enjoys.

But it's dancing tonight!

Oh! Guess what? Dancing with the Stars returns on 21 Sept!

Opa!

Chism is a great movie. What a great night you and Pam had. :) Tacos...mm mm good. You know I'm going to be watching to see who is on DWTS and if they don't have better celebs this seaons, I'm outta there. Besides, it's nothing compared to SYTYCD. On your comment on my blog about MJ I think you would have enjoyed it Trav. It wasn't what I expected. It was a wonderful tribute. Brooke Shields was the bomb. Jennifer Husdon was out of this world. His daughter Paris...just awesome :) I was glad I watched it :)

Snuggling on the couch with the right person makes any movie good!

  1. I haven't watched a John Wayne movie in ages!
    I'm ready to dance!

What's better than watching dancing? Actually, participating in the real life activity, especially if it can be with someone special. ;)

Oh my god you made me laugh today, Trav. You probably would not believe me, but I'm going to tell you anyway. We have two guys in my class. One of them is John and the other is Wayne. They are inseparable (in a whole class of girls ;o) and we call them John Wayne :o)

  1. Chism...have not seen it in years..

    YAY for Dancing...

Chism isn't my favorite either but I was temped to watch the Duke, however, I held out for Deadliest Catch.

  1. Dude, you need help. ;)

I know what is also great to watch... young talents on their journey through a Master Class about musical theater. Yup.

I don't believe I've ever watched an entire John Wayne movie from start to finish. Hmm...

    DANCING!!!!

  1. Tacos, eh? I'm making burritos for dinner tonight; wanna come over?

  1. Marilyn says:

Going dancing is fun too. I'd like to do that again some day. Hubby isn't so good at it though and doesn't enjoy it... so we go for walks in the woods. Almost as nice.

    I miss DWTS!!

I picked up Harry Potter tickets today for my DIL and niece, they always go to the first show

Never was a John Wayne fan, but I always liked Ben Johnson. Cheers to you and Pam, Trav!!

I'm not a huge John Wayne fan but I do, occasionally enjoy watching some of the westerns as well as some of the old WW2 era war movies he made. I can't remember now which movies of his I really liked and don't recall seeing Chisum but The Quiet Man is one of my favs.

What's better than WATCHING dancing? DOING IT! LOL

  1. Thom: I look at DWTS a little differently. It's nice to recognize the celebrities, but it's the dancing and the pros that really drive my enjoyment of the show.

    Barb: Yup yup!

Driller: We might watch another one this weekend!

    Cherie: Indeed yes!

    Ivanhoe: Now that's funny!

    V: We enjoyed it.

Marsha: I don't pass over the Duke for much, especially when I get in the mood.

Charles: I do? Yeah, I probably do.

Ann: Well, we would have watched that if Canada would share!

    Songbird: Hmmm...now that's tempting.

Marilyn: It's good that you both like the walks in the woods though.

Dianne: Me too! We're going to HP next Friday!

Matt: Ben Johnson is definitely a favorite.

Jeni: I haven't seen The Quiet Man in ages.

    Akelamalu: You could be right!

Tacos and cake - you are living the life!! I am eating meat and salad.... EVERY MEAL. Except for breakfast... EGGS (ugh). But I have lost a little weight (Thank you Dr. Atkin).

Should I admit that I have never gotten into John Wayne movies? Shameful...

I'm about to finish the 5th Harry Potter book and I plan to start #6 tomorrow. Midnight tickets are purchased!!
