Congratulations to Mercer Island Little League! They won the Northwest Regional championship yesterday to advance to the Little League World Series in Williamsport.
Mercer Island is 15 minutes south of me, in the middle of Lake Washington off the I-90 floating bridge.

That really is quite an accomplishment to make it to the World Series in Wiliamsport -which, by the way, is about 90 miles east of me.

Our local team usually goes to the finals, but this year the team (which includes boys from my daughter's classes) lost in regional finals in the final inning.
