And cue music...

And we have our first Cat Deeley LEGSES of the new season, although they appear to have been taped at the end of last season. But that's ok. I'll take it!
We've got auditions from Los Angeles this week. Judges are Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, and Adam Shankman. Anya Garnish and Pasha Kovalev run the choreography at the end of the day.
Nigel makes an excellent point about this show being as much about personality as it is about technique. And he's right. The dancers must take choreography, interpret it, and perform. And they must find a way to connect with viewers. That's the key.
Woooooooooooooo!!! Ryan Kasprzak and Bianca Revels. Both of them just missed out on Top 20 in Season 5. And they are both extraordinary tappers. Ryan set a very high bar with his audition. And Nigel calls out a tap trade between Ryan and Bianca. And it rocked! And they both get to Vegas!
Can we have two high quality tappers in the top 20? Please please please!
There's a gal named Amber that I find very interesting. There's some talent there, but she seemed a bit nervous. Her dancing was very clean and quiet. And she was the start of a montage of several very intriguing female contemporary dancers.
And then came Phillip. Another tap dancer. He was Ryan's roommate on tour in the show Fosse. OK...I want THREE tappers in the Top 20!
I'm a little bummed though because we didn't get to see any of Anya and Pasha's choreography. But I guess I have to remember that the fall TV season is starting and they only have an hour.
Next week, it's Phoenix.
And in two weeks, it's the premier of Dancing with the Stars!
Excellent review of the highlights of the show *giggle* :)
I'll come out and say it, I had tears of joy watching Ryan. I love that man. I just simply adore him.
I thought the same about not seeing choreography... *sigh*. I'm hoping for more ballroom folks to step up, as well.
