YEAH BABY YEAH part 2

My pal Vinny is a Yankee fan. I am a Dodger fan. It's been 28 years since the Yankees and Dodgers last faced each other for the championship of major league baseball. My Dodgers won that series 4 games to 2 after losing the first two games.

Both teams are now five wins each away from meeting again in the Fall Classic.

And two nights in a row I got to see the most exciting play in baseball. Thursday it was my Dodgers pulling out a win with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th. Last night it was Vinny's Yankees getting a 2 run homer in the bottom of the 9th to tie Game 2 against the Twins. Then they got a game winning homer in the bottom of the 11th to win it.

My guys got the little hits and Vinny's guys got the big hits. Both our teams are 2-0 this post season.

My Dodgers play game 3 of their NLDS in St Louis at 15:00 today. Vinny's Yankees are back in action from Minnesota for their ALDS game 3 on Sunday at 16:00.

GO DODGERS! GO YANKEES...at least for now.

Hehehe!

The first week of construction has been safely completed. All of the siding is off and the building has been wrapped in plastic to protect against any weather and to maintain at least some basic insulation.

Mr Tucker is doing very well after some first day jitters. I'm pleased with the way he has adapted. He's quite the trooper. I was concerned that I'd have to ask my folks to take him for the duration, but so far so good.

There have only been two small incidents. The first was that the shampoo and body wash bottles cannot stay on the shelves in the shower! I found them in the tub when I got home on Monday, so now they must sit on the sides of the tub.

The second issue we didn't really notice until Tuesday morning at oh-dark-thirty when I left for work. As part of the prep, the workers had removed our porch light. I have a very dark breezeway leading from the front door to the stairs, and the light from the car ports doesn't penetrate down the stairs. So it was a bit nervy to leave the house.

I sent an email to the construction company liason, and when I got home Tuesday evening the crew was putting up a temporary porch light. Problem solved!

Sorry there are no pictures. I've taken some, but I'm still stealing time...I mean borrowing my work laptop to stay in touch with y'all. I don't want to download a bunch of personal pics on it. So I'll have the photo essay for the construction some time later in the year.

But it's going very well and we are quite pleased so far.

John Lennon would have been 69 yesterday.

All you need is love... so true.

I'll say what Daddy would say: Go Dodgers!

  1. I would so love a Dodgers / Yankees Mix Up. Then the Dodgers should destroy the evil striped ones. Hee hee hee. Rubbing hands together in anticipation.

Well, as a New Englander there really isn't anything nice I can say about the Yankees so GO, DODGER BLUE!

Glad to hear the construction is going well and that's great that you're no longer in the dark on the stairs, that could have been tricky and dangerous!

  1. I only just now discovered what's been happening with Mimi.

HUGE hugs for promoting Blog Blast for Peace on Nov. 5th.

  1. Hmmm...I seem to have missed the whole construction thing. I must go back to read the old posts from when I was on my hiatus.

And since I'm not a baseball fan, and I REFUSE to take sides between you and Vinny, I'll just say, I hope the playoffs are enjoyable for each of you despite the bad umpiring calls.

See where your Dodgers won today. Congratulations!

Ole Miss played Alabama today. I'm grieving somewhat. Seems Ole Miss forgot to bring their offense...whatever...

Good day for Jen @ Dust Bunny, though!

  1. Charles: Fortunately they don't work on the weekend.

    Ann: Go Dodgers indeed!

Jamie: Well, I haven't seen the Yankees as evil since 2001, but I get what you're saying.

Linda: The first week has been easy with construction. Hopefully that continues.

    Julia: Every little bit helps.

Songbird: There haven't been many posts about the construction. And I'm definitely enjoying the MLB post season so far.

Debra: Ole Miss played well, but 'Bama is just a great team.
