So we made our Peace Globes. Then we emailed them to Mimi to collect in the Gallery. Then we wrote our words about Peace and we posted them.

Then came the really good part. We got to visit and read all the words and see all the Globes. I have met many friends during Blog Blast who's blogs I still visit.

These are some posts that really stood out and made an impression on me. If you missed them, please consider cruising by.

I felt my peace slipping a bit this weekend as I continued my journey through the Peace Globe posts. I found that a great many bloggers had signed the linky list for Blog Blast, but didn't seem to have a Peace Globe posted anywhere.

Why?

Was it simply to get traffic?

Those people wasted my time. And maybe they wasted a lot of other people's time too. Some of us feel that Blog Blast Day is about more than just posting a Peace Globe. Some of us feel that it is equally important to visit others who share a commitment toward Peace. It's the community thing. It reminds us that peace is a process and it takes all of us working toward the common goal.

To have bloggers post their link with no intention of participating in Blog Blast is disrespectful.

But you know what? I'm not going to let those people have power over me. Yes, it irritated me each time I clicked on another link that had no Peace post. But all I had to do was exit out of the blog and go back to the list for the next link.

If blog traffic is more important to some than doing something positive for a worthy cause...well, I guess that's their business. I'm still going to be a positive force for Peace. It starts with us as individuals.

I forgive those folks for wasting my time. They can have their selfishly earned one blog hit from me if it's that important to them. They are not getting me to abandon my peaceful, easy feeling.

Oh...one more thing. Don't let this one day be the only time you think of peace and actively work toward it.

That is so true, that we ought to think about peace all year round. And it would be great to get more people to think about peace. I am not at all surprised that people used this to get traffic. Thanks for visiting my blog.

  1. Not only do we do a peace globe but us kitties (from Twitter and The Cat Blogosphere)do Purrs for Peace too.

Thanks for your sweet comment about my blog for peace. I'm still working my way through all of them. Thanks for posting the ones that stood out to you. That's also a wonderful gesture. Thanks for posting a link to my blog. It's new, I'm shy, and probably depend on pictures more than words. But . . . peace is as peace does.

  1. I'll check out the links. I didn't sign the list because I knew I wouldn't have a chance to do it. I do think it's a problem when people sign up but don't follow through.

    Some people just need attention.

Amen. I think some people do just do things for traffic but I think there are sometimes "newbies" who don't quite understand what Mr. Linky is about and sign in as though it's a petition or something. (Maybe I'm being too kind.) I had company for three days and still have many globes to try and catch up on.

If they are doing it for the links, wouldn't it be better to write a post? Doesn't even have to be a good one, something like, "hey did you know today was blog blast for peace day?"

People probably just forgot. Which is proof that blog blasts like this one are needed. I mean even the people who signed up to do the blast forget about peace. What does that tell you?

Your words mattered and touched me as well on that most awesome of days, bro.

    *hug*

I'm still on the Peace Train, with so many blogs to visit still... it's like a Peace Hanukkah and we get gifts for a a whole week!

Good post Trav and I'm pleased to hear you're not letting those selfish people spoil your Peace. x

  1. Great blog blast for Peace!
I agree ... Peace every day please!
Thanks for your top 13 list, I'll be sure and check them out!

I noticed several people who didn't do a full post for it but did put the globes they made in sidebars. Maybe they didn't understand or maybe they don't like meme-style posts and felt this was like that.

I love the idea of you best-of links. I can think of a few I'd like to link up like that but I honestly would have a hard time finding them again. I visited so many of them and I'm sure it's just a drop in the bucket compared to how many you've visited.

  1. great posting, thanks for the links.I enjoyed each visit.

  1. I feel your pain on the list thing!

I am having a wonderful time reading. Some of the ones you listed I haven't read yet but certainly all were outstanding. I am taking my time and savoring them. It will take awhile but it's a joyful process. I learn something with each post and gain insight into the movement and what makes peace bloggers tick.

Thank you for taking the time to direct folks to some incredible posts. Peace, my friend!

(and hugs to the lovely Pam)

Unfortunately, life has gotten in the way of my blog time. I was only able to visit a few of my regular places. Still, it was a good day.

I have a veteran post you might like up now.

  1. I ran across some people, too, who just posted the globe template. No post, no words, no graphics added to the template - nothing. I thanked them for participating at least. Perhaps they didn't understand the concept, so I thought an acknowledgment and gratitude was warranted.

I didn't even make a dent in the list. Then I got busy and the cold knocked me down. Ugh.

  1. Marg: It's got to be more than one day, otherwise it's just another meme. And this movement is way more than just another meme.

TT: We can always count on the purries.

GGG: We all do what we do best.

Charles: I understand that this falls right during a busy time for you.

    Nessa: Indeed.

Raven: That could be the case for a few of them. We do try to make the instructions as clear as we can each time.

Shamrock: And how about reciprocal links? Sign the linky, and then refer people back to the post. I'd be ok with that.

Ann: I visited over 300 posts between the two linky lists. It was really enjoyable.

Akelamalu: By keeping my peace, I win!

    Patty: Great!

Marilyn: There were so many good posts out there...once I started reading I just couldn't stop.

John: Just gotta speak up sometimes.

    Mike: I'm glad.

Mimi: Congratulations on another successful Blog Blast!

Driller: I understand. I'll be by soon to check out your post.

Peaceful thoughts beyond the Blog Blast - I agree.

Sorry you experienced some disappointment during the Blog Blast. The traffic link up happens often though. I tend to not comment.

  1. TopChamp says:

I'm pretty sure last time I told Mimi I'd participate then had to do it late... hopefully they'll turn up in a few days...??

  1. Sadie says:

I nearly missed the Blog Blast this year, I'm so glad I jumped in even if my globe was clearly done in just a few seconds.

You're right, Mimi's mission is our beginning, we should make it happen every day.

  1. Songbird: I saw some who just put up the Globe. I wished peace to them and theirs. At least they tried.

Jennifer: At least I got over it quick.

TC: You can always send her a Globe.

Sadie: I'm glad you remembered in time!

Thank you, Travis, for listing me on that list of wonderful posts.

Yeah, I also noticed a lot of people in the main lists hadn't participated. In fairness I know two friends I invited said yes, but then
ended up having to pull out due to health/family problems. It's possible some of them really wanted to be in, but just didn't get around to doing it.
