It's live from Hollywood in three weeks!




Every year I read things like "Who are these people" and "Why should I care". And there are always those who exclaim "What a weak cast" and "Is this the best you could do".

You know what I say to all those questions?

PPPPPPPPFFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTTTT!

In most cases, all the public knows is the persona or the media character. So I check my preconceptions at the door and wait for the celebrities to tell me who they are through their dancing.

Here are the celebrity dancers for Season 10 of Dancing with the Stars, premiering on 22 March 2010.

Aiden Turner is an actor who spent eight years on the ABC soap opera All My Children.

Buzz Aldrin is the second man to walk on the moon, on 20 July 1969.

Chad Ochocinco is an NFL wide receiver in his 10th year with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Erin Andrews is a sideline reporter for ESPN college football and major league baseball.

Evan Lysacek is the reigning world champion in men's figure skating, and just won the Olympic gold medal in Vancouver.

Jake Pavelka is a commercial pilot and the most recent participant on the ABC show The Bachelor.

Kate Gosselin has been the subject of a reality show on TLC.

Niecy Nash is an actor and TV host best known for the shows Reno 911 on Comedy Central and Clean House on Style Network.

Nicole Scherzinger is a singer known for her work at the front of The Pussycat Dolls.

Pamela Anderson is an actor and model, best known for her role on Baywatch.

Shannon Doherty is an actor best known for her work on Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed.

I heard that there were 12 celebrities, but I could only find the names for 11. So although I know it's a long shot, I shall hold out hope that Valerie Bertinelli might be the surprise 12th. But whether she dances or not, I'm ready for the new season.

    I've heard of Buzz Aldrin, Pamela Anderson and Shennon Doherty but not the others. I would imagine the ice skating champion will do well. You're gonna be one happy chappie in three weeks time aren't you? LOL

    What an interesting mix of celebrities! Evan Lysacek and Nicole Scherzinger would have a definite edge. Chad Ochocinco (gorgeous smile) and Niecy Nash have vivid personalities. Pamela Anderson will bring a "rwwr factor" to the competition. Kate Gosselin??? Huhn.

    I'd vote for the hot pilot.

    You'd think a pusseycat doll would be good at it... will look out for that. I hear she is still dating F1's baby Hamilton.

    How do they get these people? I mean, does Buzz Aldrin one day just say, "Yeah, screw the moon stuff, I'm gonna go dance?"

    Anyway, it'll be fun. But mainly because of your keen insights that you write, which are often more fun than watching the show.

    John: Buzz winning would be unprecedented, although Donny won at 51 last season.

    Kanani: I think they take a lot of fan requests, and then start sending out invitations to people they think would be interesting.

    Lois: I think it will be.
