I have no theme for Set 17.  It's just five pop songs from classic radio that I really like.

Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again was released in 1971 and reached #15 on US charts.

Everybody Loves a Clown was released in 1965 and reached #4.

Kind of a Drag was a #1 hit in 1967.

This Girl is a Woman Now was released in 1969 and reached #9.

You've Made Me So Very Happy was released in 1969 and reached #2.

If you'd like to join us in the musical fun, the guidelines are basic and simple.

1. Grab the banner, make your post title Five on Friday, and be sure to link back here.
2. Go to Playlist.com to make your play list of five songs. You may choose a particular theme to share with us, or post random tunes if that's your vibe for the day. You can simply post the play list, or you can add a little summary about what you are sharing.
2a. Don't feel restricted by the tracks listed on Playlist.com. And don't be discouraged if the Embed code won't work. You're welcome to use any type of media to share your Sets.
3. Be sure to sign Mr Linky so everyone can visit your Set.
4. No tags, but feel free to invite your friends to play along if they need a post topic on a Friday.

Go forth and enjoy music!

In case you haven't heard, looks like Valerie just got engaged!!

  1. Any playlist that features BST is a good one and "Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling" is one of my favorite bubble gum songs ... Sometimes you gotta bounce.

I went with with one of my favorite song writer/chanteuse: Amanda McBroom

  1. BST adds life to any set and this one didn't even need it! Nice...I am also in the 60's for the most part with The Band...and I stretched the guidelines and actually posted 7 songs

"Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again" is a favorite of mine! Like Jamie said, sometimes you just gotta bounce and even though that's supposed to be a song about something sad and depressing it just doesn't leave you that way!

I took a trip back to the early 1980's this week with a guy that I almost forgot I had a crush on back in the day!

  1. What a great set - it may seem random, but when you listen to it, the songs all have a similar vibe. You Make Me So Very Happy is my Top Pick! (Insider wink-wink - that's what Romantic Times magazine gives to the 4 1/2 stars reviews for romance fiction, being that the reviews supposedly only go as high as 4 stars.) Blood, Sweat & Tears are a lifelong fave of mine.

Also really enjoyed new-to-me This Girl is a Woman Now - really like his voice. My husband joined in singing Kind of a Drag - like that one, too, especially as it prompted Brad to sing!

The Fortunes track is one of my favourite songs. :)

  1. I like best the Blood, Sweat and Tears song.

  1. you and I have one song in common on our playlists today.when I made up mine I had no idea what you set would be like.I glad we have the same taste in some of the music we enjoy.

I can't hear them! But Buckingham is my home town so I must google that band.

  1. Gads...don't THOSE titles date us. Bring back memories...

  1. Marsha: She did? I did not know that.

    Jamie: Ditto on the bouncing.

V: Guidelines are for guidance only. LOL!

Linda: I know what you mean. Isn't it funny how some songwriters put a sad theme to an uptempo melody?

Julia: I thought so too. One song kind of led into another. It' started with Rainy Day Feeling and went from there.

Akelamalu: I'm a fan of the Fortunes.

    Charles: BST rocks.

    Mike: So do I!

    Marilyn: Excellent.

TC: I'm sorry you can't hear.

    Lana: Indeed!
