Because that's what today is all about...celebrating the day when our forefathers declared to all and sundry around the world that they believed in the right of self-governance and self-determination.



Read the document.  I do it every year on this day.  It is profound.  It is real.  And it is yours.  It is mine.  It is our document.

    We brilliant minds do indeed think alike as today I posted the entire text of the Declaration. Those were some very brave men that made us one Nation under God.

    Akelamalu: I've always appreciated the unselfishness of that quote.

    Linda: Other than the reference to deity, I agree about the bravery of our founding fathers. They outlined and fought for individual rights and freedoms, including the freedom from a state imposed religion and the freedom to worship or not as one chooses. We are indivisible as one nation.

    As always very well done, sir. I always make it a point whenever I get a new phone (and we all know how often that seems to be) I download the app for the Declaration and Constitution.

    Trav: Was away for most of the day. Thanks for the links and the reminder to read the Declaration. Our local paper printed the entire thing. I was impressed when I saw it. Hope you had a good 4th!
