Some things I don't understand

I don't understand why some television programs begin and end at 1 minute after the hour.

I don't understand discourtesy.

I don't understand baggy clothes.

I don't understand wearing clothes that are too tight.

I don't understand the need to put a label on something or someone based on perception rather than facts.

I don't understand why some people seem to have such a problem with other people who choose to spend $3-$4 for a coffee at Starbucks or Tully's or Seattle's Best or any other specialty coffee shop.

I don't understand the choice not to vote.

I don't understand extremism, fundamentalism, fanaticism, bigotry, or hate.

I don't understand why some people disagree by calling names.

Oh well.  I guess if I understood everything there was, then there wouldn't be anything knew to learn about things or people.

I don't understand baggy clothes either... mostly because I never seem to have any! hahahaha!

that television thing perplexes me too about the timing--and WHY are there not more CAKE and ice cream commercials?? Have a great Monday, Travis.

Baggy clothes... sheesh... those hanging pants on the ground thing. I just don't get it.

I'm with you on most of those.

  1. I believe all of those are a product of many people's need to control others. I don't understand that at all.

  1. The extending of a show by a minute or two is in direct response to TiVo and DVRs in general.

If I go a minute longer, your DVR will not record the show that begins at the top of the hour and maybe you will watch the sucky show on afterward on my network!

We agree on many don't understands'

My boyfriend doesn't understand the need to begin things at o'clock, 10 past, half past when 9.01 would be just as good. I prefer o'clock, ten past, half past but I don't really know why.

  1. Debra: I try to see other points of view, but sometimes I just don't quite get there.

    Barb: LOL.

AMTG: More CAKE and ice cream commercials...YES!

Lois: A couple of my cousins used to wear those over-sized pants hanging off their asses. I told them I thought it was stupid. They didn't care.

    Akelamalu: Yup.

    Charles: Good point.

V: Of course, they also run the risk that I'll quit watching the show I'm recording, since I keep missing the last minute.

TC: I prefer shows to start on the 0 hour or half hour because it's easier to remember when they air.

  1. It's not that I don't understand why someone would pay the three or four dollars for a cup of coffee, it's that I don't understand why they want to drink coffee in the first place. Never been a coffee drinker. :)

  1. You ponder a lot Travis. I use to wonder, but now I just don't let it bother me. I am with you on your list of things that I don't understand. I try to over look the bad and see the good in all people. I tell you, some days it is not easy.

Loved your new style of poetry.

I can fully understand why sometimes people want to treat themselves to a more expensive coffee but like yourself, I don't understand why some people seem to take it personally.

And I honestly don't understand a lot of clothing choices!

  1. John: Now that make perfect sense!

Pam: I want to keep learning about people and things so I can move through the world a little better.

Linda: That's the thing...taking the choices of other people personally! Aren't there enough things in our own lives to give us stress? Why do we want to add something completely beyond our business to the pile?

  1. Actually I understand some of those...sometimes.

I don't understand why you didn't recap SYTYCD. **walks off filled with sadness** Sure hope everything is okay, honey.

  1. There are a lot of things I don't understand, many of which are on your list; however, I'm getting to an age where I don't even begin to WANT to understand. It's a waste of precious time. ;)
