Announcing Blog Blast for Peace 2010

I think most of my readers are well aware of Blog Blast.  I met some of you on a Peace Globe day.

But, I never take anything for granted when it comes to the movement.  So here are some words from the founder of Blog Blast for Peace.

Dear Peace Bloggers,

I am proud to announce the 7th annual BlogBlast For Peace aka Dona Nobis Pacem in the Blogosphere. I invite you to fly your peace globes once again on November 4, 2010.  I have chosen this day because it is my Papa's birthday - the man who inspired the movement with his earth turned marbles - and it will remain on this date each year hereafter.

He continues to inspire me as do all of you. I see peace globes everywhere! It is humbling to look at them now still holding a presence for peace, still scribbling our names on a globe for all the world to see, still believing that the power of one voice tumbled into many..... can change our world.

We are currently blogging peace in 50 countries -  on Facebook, Twitter, iPeace, DoPeace and Bloggers Unite. I fully expect this launch to reap the benefits of social networking as never before.  We were the Internet's first ever online movement of its kind to invite bloggers to post the same message on the same day.

Your persistence and passion has not changed and continues to gain momentum. It is awesome to watch!

The Facebook Group is growing - please be a part of this (you can reach it from my website or FB page) -  many of you have expressed an interest in launching a unified effort in the FB world, offering your help and suggestions. I've placed your peace globes in permanent albums there as well!  If you have a FB page, please let me know so that I can link it to your peace globe photos and tag you with it. If you do NOT wish to have your peace globe and blog associated with your FB page, please let me know and I will delete those links.

How to prepare for BlogBlast 2010? I've made it easier this year. I've placed links to pages at the top of my blog for your convenience. There are new templates, information for newbies, complete instructions and logos. Just go to Mimi Writes (mimilenox.com) and look at the top of the page. Everything you need is there.

It is time to promote! Please place the logo above (or any one of those you find in a link from my page) on your blogs and Facebook pages and albums beginning this week. Link it to "BlogBlast For Peace 2010 " or "How To Get Your Peace Globe In 4 Easy Steps" and Share it, share it, share it.

I will keep you informed with updates every 2-3 weeks from now until November 4, 2010. Please write if you have questions or would like to help people make peace globes. We can always use more worker bees in the peace movement.

Thank you for your continued enthusiasm and dedication to what many of us began in 2006. I have come to believe that while vast numbers of people voicing peace on the same day is indeed impressive, it is the content and substance of our words that makes this movement stand apart and thrive.

You are incredible human beings and I am proud to know you.

Keep blogging the peace.

As I've said many times.....If words are powerful, then this matters.

Dona nobis pacem,
Mimi Lenox

So sayeth the Founder.

If this is new to you, I encourage you to follow the links in the post to find out more.  And of course I've got links to follow at the top of my sidebar.

To understand the real meaning and impetus behind this movement, check out the post that started it all...Papa's Marbles, The Silence of Peace.  Follow that with The Doll Box.

As you cruise about the blogosphere on your daily rounds, you may see this...

Anyone flying that badge can help you with creating your Peace Globe or answer any questions you might have.  And you can earn one of those badges by helping us spread the word to any of your readers who may not know about the movement.

I believe that words have power, so this matters.

Mark the date...4 November 2010.  Join us.  You know you want to.
