Cue that theme music...
Posted: Wednesday, October 13, 2010 by Travis Cody inIt's results live from Hollywood!
But first of course, we'll have some encores. We really enjoyed the acoustic dancing in the round on Monday's performance show.
Although the Rumba from Kurt and Anna didn't score well with the judges, we appreciated it for how sweetly romantic it was.
Another Rumba that didn't score well with the judges was from Bristol and Mark. But we appreciated it for the smile on Bristol's face at the end. It looked to us like she found something out about herself, and that's a dance moment we always enjoy seeing.
We were thoroughly charmed by the Rumba from Kyle and Lacey, but we also appreciated his progression from wild and out of control, to sophisticated and adult.
You knew this was coming. Dance of the night goes to a nearly flawless Argentine Tango from Jennifer and Derek. This dance is a WOW.
Here's a reminder of the leader board after Monday's performances:
56 Jennifer and Derek
48 Brandy and Maks
46 Audrina and Tony
40 Kyle and Lacey
39 Rick and Cheryl
35 Florence and Corky
34 Kurt and Anna
32 Bristol and Mark
28 Mike and Karina
Results right at the top of the show...Audrina and Tony are safe. Brandy and Maks are safe. Jennifer and Derek are safe.
The judges select the Argentine Tango from Jennifer and Derek as the encore. No complaints from me this week!
Hey! It's Goo Goo Dolls in the ballroom! I love that they played Iris, in medley with their latest release, and they did it acoustic in keeping with this week's theme. And of course I enjoyed watching Dmitry and Chelsie dance. Bonus...Jason Glover, another SYTYCD alum, danced with Chantelle (didn't catch her last name). That was excellent.
More results...Kyle and Lacey are safe. Rick and Cheryl are safe.
Len had a terrific video outlining what it takes to get a "10 from Len".
Macy's Stars of Dance presents the cast of Forever Tango, from Broadway. Wow!
Next up, it's a performance from Florence and the Machine. This is another acoustic performance, accompanied by dancers on pedestals around the stage. I didn't care for her voice, although I did enjoy the dancing.
More results...Florence and Corky are safe. Kurt and Anna are safe. Bristol and Mark are safe.
That means Mike and Karina are out.
Tune in next week for TV Theme Week...no idea, but it sounds intriguing.
Later gang!
