Robert Palmer (1949-2003) was a Grammy winning singer songwriter, a master at putting his own spin on covers of popular tunes, and a snappy dresser.

He is also on the list of artists taken much too soon, dead at 54 from a sudden heart attack.

  1. Who could forget the video of "Simply Irresistible" with the look alike women. Great set today.

  1. LOL - Travis, I've got a Robert Palmer tune in my set today (luckily, not one of yours!)

I love your 'snappy dresser' description.

I was so sad when Robert Palmer died, I love his voice. :(

  1. Always did like Palmer.

  1. Palmer was very talented. A sin we lost him so early. I did five versions of the same song

Oh wow Travis, I wanted to BE one of the chicks in his video. Those black dresses, red lipstick, slicked back hair, and bored expressions just blew me away. Even my country-fied, high-haired self knew that these aloof women were classiness personified.

I tried, I failed, it is NOT a story for another day.

Robert Palmer was an icon. He did indeed pass away too soon.

When I first read Robert Palmer, I would have said Simply Irresistible was my favorite song. But listening to them, it was clear ... there is definitely something about Addicted to Love that brings that time to life. That's the one.
