Five on Friday Set 66

To everyone experiencing severe weather, my thoughts are with you.  Stay safe.

Quick tip of the hat to HRH Prince William of Wales and his bride, the lovely Miss Catherine Middleton.

And now, on with Set 66.

Did you know that the week before I was born, on 4 April 1964, The Beatles had the top 5 spots on the Billboard Hot 100?  They had 12 songs on the singles chart, and that's never been done before or since.

The #1 song on 11 April 1964, my birthday, was Can't Buy Me Love.  It was #1 for the entire month of April in 1964.  I've selected 4 other favorites from the year I was born.

Enjoy!

I remember all those tunes so well. I met MWM in 1963 when I was 14 and he was 15 and we discovered the Beatles together. :)

  1. Congratulations on being born. I was working on my own project as my daughter arrived in September. Your picks are a nice reminder of a great time period.

  1. 1964 songs! A VERY good year. Not that I'm partial to it, or anything, fellow Dragon.

PS - I was up at 4:00 am to watch the royal wedding...

And normally I go to bed around 1:30 or 2:00. I actually fell asleep at 11:30 - freakish, I realize. But I'm exhausted from prepping for my book trailer shoot tomorrow.

Yet it would be hard to be happier than I am right now.

I was only 6 in 1964 but I most definitely remember "Can't Buy Me Love" and of course heard all of the others as I got older. Heck, I pretty much like anything Frank Valli and the Four Seasons!

I'll have to see what was on the charts in 1958 ...

Thanks for the inspiration! I'm not sure I would've had a list to post today if I hadn't read yours this morning.
