Well now that Blogger is back, we can get to Pam's Set.  That's right...for Pam's birthday on Sunday, she put together Set 68.

Says Pam,
"Each of these songs reminds me in some way of my parents.  I lost them both in 1985, Mom in June to breast cancer and Dad exactly a month later, because he couldn't face the rest of his life without Mom.  I used to get too emotional when I'd hear any of these songs, but now listening to them makes me feel closer to Mom and Dad, particularly around the anniversaries of their passing.  I've learned to focus on the happy things I remember about them."

My Lady has done a lot of healing since I met her five years ago.  She surprised me when she said this was the Set she wanted to share.  I'm very proud of her.

  1. Theres is a point when the songs that jump up and bite you become the ones of tender memory. It's not that they don't sometimes still make you cry, but in exchange they provide proof that you have loved.

  1. Jamie,I agree with you 1,000%. Trave great set.

Happy belated birthday to Pam. Enjoyed the set, especially like the "Your so far away"! Reminds me of the days when my husband was in the Navy.

  1. Travis, Pam has put together a loving set of music. I am sorry that you lost your parents at such an early age.

Happy Birthday to your sweet wife.
    Thanks for sharing.

  1. I love how Jamie put this:

'It's not that they don't sometimes still make you cry, but in exchange they provide proof that you have loved.'

Really enjoyed your set, Pam - especially Cherish.

What a sweet set. My heart goes out to you, Pam, for the untimely loss of your folks. Best wishes for your birthday and many happy memories with Travis.

This entire set is fantastic and I listened to it all the way through twice! Pam should pick the sets more often rather than just on special occasions (not there is anything wrong with your choices, of course!)

Happy belated birthday to your lovely lady and I am very happy for her that she's been able to go from not being able to listen to memories to picking them out specifically. Best wishes for a wonderful year ahead!

  1. I had no idea that your Pam and I shared something so profound; I lost my mother in March 1985 to liver cancer, as you know, and my father followed on Christmas Day 1986. I think he missed my mom too much.

Tell Pam thank you very much for sharing her story and her songs.
