Welcome to encores and results!

Good news!  I got my hard copy of Ghost Story!  I've been reading it on my Kindle and enjoying the story.  Now I have the book for my shelf.

This is the part where I repeat myself and tell you there was some really good stuff on Wednesday's performance show.

Melanie may have finalized her solo moments before she danced it.  And it was stunning.  Click here if the video doesn't play.

Caitlynn and Marko had a moment with a Jazz piece choreographed by Sonya Tayeh.  Click here if the video doesn't play.

Melanie and Tadd were mesmerizing in a Broadway piece choreographed by Spencer Liff.  Click here if the video doesn't play.

Dance of the night honors go to Sasha and All Star Kent Boyd from Season 7 for their emotional Contemporary piece choreographed by Tyce Diorio.  Click here if the video doesn't play.

Excellent work!

Cat update:  Cleavage!!  And that gown...teasing me with the floor length multi-split skirt revealing an enticing bit of LEGSSES with every step.  Ahhhhh.

Another amazing group number.  This one was choreographed by Justine Giles.

We're looking for our Final Four dancers for next week's finale.  Our Top 4 will be revealed according to America's vote.

Top 3 gals get one more solo
  • Sasha displays her strength and power, and shows how much she has grown.
  • Caitlynn danced very well, but it felt a little flat to me.
  • Melanie...WOW.  She is just on a completely different planet.
Top 3 guys get one more solo
  • Tadd has an excess of personality!
  • Marko shows off amazing technique and joy when he dances.
  • Ricky was better in that solo than he was in his choreographed pieces on Wednesday.
Well done to all.  From what I consider the most talented group of 20 dancers of any season, we're about to get down to 4.

Lauren Froderman and Kent Boyd from Season 7 reprise the Emmy nominated routine Collide.  This dance is so sweetly romantic.  I remember loving this piece last season.  I can see how they have both grown as dancers in a year.

Results...Melanie is in the finale.  Marko is in the finale.  Sasha is in the finale.  Tadd is in the finale.

That means Caitlynn and Ricky fall just short.  I'm not worried about either of these two because they are going to work somewhere in the industry.

Caitlynn Lawson

Ricky Jaimie

Let me tell you something about our Final Four...any of them can be America's Favorite Dancer.  Remember, it's about America's votes.

I'm OK with any result.

I thought Melanie's solo was amazing the first time I saw it. I didn't get to see Melanie and Tadd's duet, so thank you for sharing it here. Yes, this is the most talented group ever. They are wonderful. As Nigel said last night, "dance" is the winner when these six are a part of the art.

  1. I have liked Melanie since her audition ad she just keeps getting better...but Sasha might give her a run next week

  1. Once again I fall short keeping up with this show. ARgh. Did you say recently that Twitch is returning? I loved him!

Like Melanie's solo more than her duo. As to Cat Deeley - how did she manage cleavage?
