Five on Friday Set 96

I trust that everyone had a wonderful meal yesterday.  We did.  Butterball offered a boneless turkey breast...about 3lbs.  So we roasted that up and it was just the right size to give us a nice meal with some left over for sammiches today.

We cheated on everything else...Stove Top stuffing, asparagus and sweet potatoes out of a can, and Idahoan brand instant mashed potatoes (4 minutes in the microwave).  Topped it off with cranberry sauce - not the berry kind.  And some great bread from our Safeway bakery.

Pie was pumpkin by Sara Lee.  We also have a Sara Lee cherry pie that we'll bake up over the weekend.

Sucks that my 49ers couldn't pass block last night.  But I'll still take 9-2 over where they were last year.

OK.  So what's on tap for Set 96.  Well that's a very good question and I'll answer it.

The group is called Pentatonix.  They are one of three finalists on the show Sing Off.  I am so impressed by these 5 singers.  Remember, there are no instruments...only vocals.

If you haven't watched the show yet, check out the finale Monday night.

Got a bonus track for you from this past Monday's show.  This is the Dartmouth Aires putting on a whale of a show with Shout.  They made the finale, along with a third group called Urban Method.

Have a great weekend!

  1. It's really getting to be a GLEE world out there. Love these sets. I went with a singer that I somehow had managed to miss until a week ago.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Trav. :)

  1. Happy Thanksgiving, Travis and Pam!

I'll be back to listen to everyone later - I'm on day 4 of reacting extremely badly to my flu shot, and I have a date with the couch, a warm snuggley blanket and some Neo Citrin.

  1. Wow, I really liked their Born to Be Wild. very well done.

  1. Cool collection.thanks for posting it.I hope that you and Pam had a fantanstic Thanksgiving.

  1. I'm glad you included the bonus track of the Dartmouth Aires - cause they were my favorite! And not just because I grew up in Dartmouth.

This is one of those shows that I'd like to have been watching but another one of those that is tough to watch at work. I absolutely love a cappella singing (I probably wrote that wrong, huh?) and am always so impressed when people can use their voices as such great instruments. As someone who can't carry a tune in a bucket, I love to listen to those that can!

Sounds like you and Pam had a terrific Thanksgiving - simple and yet satisfying and that's all that matters! Not to mention that Sara Lee gal makes a pretty good pie!

Hey, when are you going to do your next episode of "Musical Progression" for Five on Friday?

  1. I finally get back to doing a Five on Friday inspired by the death of Coco Robicheaux.

Is Butterball a shop? The Friday 5 player doesn't work so I'm LOVING the youtube clips.

Not loving Pentatonix... though they're definitely good singer/beatboxers. I get bored about 30 seconds into the songs as they don't vary much. I DO love their name though.

(also love a little bit the opening to Video Killed the Radio Star one)

Glad you & Pam have been having fun at Thanksgiving. (that is why you were eating turkey etc? I've been off-line for a while - head down getting on with work & stuff)
