Five on Friday Set 132

Now I could have made a Five on Friday banner with the Olympic rings, but you're not supposed to use the image if you're not affiliated with the Olympic Games.  I don't want to get in trouble, so I'll use my regular summer banner.

The 30th Olympiad begins tonight with the opening ceremonies.  I'm not going to do the obvious...five songs from British artists.  I just grabbed a collection of tunes that caught my ear this week...with a Brit or two in there for flavor.

Enjoy the opening weekend!

From Where You Are, written by Jason Wade, released by Lifehouse in 2007

Bittersweet Symphony, written by Richard Ashcroft, released by The Verve in 1998

Stop and Stare, written by Ryan Tedder/Zachary Filkins/Andrew Brown/Eddie Fisher/Tim Myers, released by OneRepublic in 2007

Little Wonders, written by Rob Thomas, released by Rob Thomas in 2007

Wake Me Up When September Ends, written by Billie Joe Armstrong, released by Green Day in 2005

If you'd like to join in, here are the guidelines:

1. Grab the banner, make your post title Five on Friday, and be sure to link back here.
2. Go to Playlist.com to make your Set of five songs. You may choose a particular theme to share with us, or post random tunes if that's your vibe for the day. You can simply post the Set, or you can add a little summary about what you are sharing.
2a. Don't feel restricted by the tracks listed on Playlist.com. And don't be discouraged if the Embed code won't work. You're welcome to use any type of media to share your Sets.
3. Be sure to sign Mr Linky so everyone can visit your Set.
4. No tags, but feel free to invite your friends to play along if they need a post topic on a Friday.

Go forth and enjoy music!

Oh, I'd never heard of Lifehouse... Listened... and love his voice and style! I created a channel for them on Pandora!

Thanks for new music to my ears, Trav! Happy Friday!

  1. American Idiot and Green Day was something truly different on Broadway and I love the soundtrack. The others I didn't know and now have a group of sounds to follow.

Nice, Trav! Bittersweet Symphony was my hubby's cell ringer for ages. And I love me some One Republic!
