Five on Friday Set 139

Welcome to a dual purpose FoF featuring two beautiful women who mesmerized me when I was a kid and who continue to captivate me now.

Valerie Bertinelli got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on 22 August 2012.

True to her comedic roots, she said during the ceremony, "I am truly humbled by this honor, but I don't think I can ignore the obvious joke here.  I am being given my own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and then, just to make sure it doesn't go to my head, forever after, people get to walk all over me!"

Don't worry, my dear.  When I get down to see your star in person one of these days, I won't walk on it.

It's probably just me and my crush, but I swear Ms Valerie gets better looking every time I see her.

Please please please come on Dancing with the Stars some day!!!

Stevie Nicks.  I have written in the past about Stevie...raw, sensual, enticing, mysterious, yearning.  All those things I didn't have the wherewithal to describe but felt anyway when I was a little guy, right down to my bones.  There haven't been many voices between then and now that have even come close to making me feel what Stevie's voice made me feel when I was just a little guy trying to discover my own style and find my own music.

I have featured music written and performed by Stevie Nicks, but I've never given her a Set of her own for FoF.

Set 139 is all Stevie.

Love ya Valerie.  Love ya Stevie.

Edge of Seventeen, written by Stevie Nicks, released in 1982

Stand Back, written by Stevie Nicks, released in 1983

Talk To Me, written by Chas Sandford, released in 1985

Rooms on Fire, written by Stevie Nicks/Rick Nowels, released in 1989

Landslide, written by Stevie Nicks, originally released by Fleetwood Mac in 1975.  This Live performance was recorded in Chicago in 2009.

I still love Valerie and can't wait for Hot in Cleveland to start back up. I'm not much for 80s music or groups really, but Stevie does have one of those fabulously unique voices!

    Have a fab weekend, Trav!
